No handed shooter

Next time you read a post from a THR member maligning the blind, crippled, or otherwise handicap as not able to exercise their 2A rights, call them a bigot. Also goes for the general public commenter too of course.

We think about the time we've invested in shooting. I wonder how much time it took him to first develop and then refine techniques that worked for him. Multiple techniques, as he uses opposite hands for long gun and handgun.

That's hard work and dedication.

I have a friend that has no arms...lost them in an electrical mishap...and he is a very good shooter...not a professional...but very good. Granted...he does not shoot handguns.

Is this a regular occurrence here?

I haven't seen it, and it wouldn't be bigoted, just very insensitive and ignorant.

He should be an inspiration to all. :)

I've been around him at competitions a couple times, and he seems like a really nice guy and has obviously put a lot of special effort into finding gear and techniques that work for him.

I worked the wheelchair games for veterans, specifically air rifle and basketball. There is nothing these people cannot do. Some of the injuries sustained by these patriots are unimaginable. In Nam, these guys would have died, but with today's medical help and techniques, they survived, albeit with horrific injuries. Yet, they don't see it as a handicap, and neither should we. The guys shooting air guns were phenomenal, stacking one shot on top of another. They are an inspiration to be around, and I was honored to be able to help in some small way. Handicapped? Not on your life.

He used to be a customer of mine.

Nice fella and a hell of an enthusiast. After the first or second interaction, his differences were no factor whatsoever other than the pragmatic considerations of the mechanics of the firearm or accessories.

His insight into alternative manipulations led us to a couple of very beneficial modifications in manufacturing and design.

I wish him loads of luck in this collaboration with JM.

Todd.

Very cool kid and story. I used to work with his mother and still keep in contact with them online. Growing up he would work tenaciously on anything that challenged him, his mother would always bring videos to show what he was currently working on. Believe it or not, he's a heck of a guitar player too!
