"No kidding -- I just got mail from Homeland Security's Gov. Tom Ridge" !

No joke...

I got a real surprise today when I went to my mailbox.

I received a booklet from Gov. Tom Ridge and the Department of Homeland Security titled "Preparing Makes Sense -- Get Ready Now".

It briefly covers the basics of what to do in case of a terrorist attack.

Of course, I could not find any mention of FIREARMS in reference to family self-defense.

Has anyone else received this homeland security booklet?

Is the government sending it to everyone, or was I just lucky!

They don't mention firearms because it could be dangerous.

They don't let soldiers have ammo because of accidental shootings. Just imagine what would happen if a bunch of untrained citizens were armed to the teeth! Negligent discharges galore, and the terrorists wouldn't have to kill us because we're killing ourselves. There are a bunch of idiots out there who are best left unarmed for their own and our safety.

I can't believe it that, so far, it appears no other THR member has received this homeland security booklet!

It's a 12 page, full color booklet that according to its postmark, was sent out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

It opens with a quote from Gov. Tom Ridge:

"Terrorism forces us to make a choice. We can be afraid. Or we can be ready."

Hey, I got a brochure from Ridge, too. In it he says that I should get the new S&W 500 Magnum revolver, the M1A and scope I have always wanted, a fully tricked out Bushmaster, range finder, brandy-new night vision goggles and a ton of ammo. Going to show it to the wife before I put the order together.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.:cool:
