No permit, no problem

I e-mailed all my congress critters, state and fed to say pass this or face a backswell come election time. No more poison pill amendments, like last month. Maybe this time they will get it right.

Sorry, next time I will post a paragraph or two.

No permit, no problem

PHOENIX -- State senators voted Tuesday to let anyone who can legally have a weapon carry it beneath a jacket, in a purse or otherwise hidden.

SB 1108 would eliminate all the penalties that now exist when someone has a concealed weapon without first getting a state permit. That permit requires the holder to attend a training class, which covers everything from the laws on when people can use deadly physical force to proving the person actually can handle the weapon.

The Arizona Daily [Red] Star (Tucson) has a similar article and the discussion forum has been pretty active since Friday. I think most of AZ is OK w/ this legislation (but, admittedly, I'm bias), but there is a strong Cali-transplant liberal base in Tucson and Phoenix - and as a libertarian I mean "liberal" in the worst sense of the word - that doesn't get it, doesn't want to get it, and will tragically die a victim's death rather than get it.

Oh well. I'm heartened to see that most of my fellow Grand Canyon Staters are good with more freedom.

You'd think that people who had the good sense to get out of the PRC would also have the good sense to understand that law abiding citizens with guns are not a problem.

Senate Bill. Til the overnor signs, a bill.

They have that insanity in Vermont. Any adult who can legally own a gun can carry without a license or permit. The blood is overflowing the levees around the gutters of the city streets and the hallways of the county morgues are stacked with bodies of the dead killed in West West shootouts..........well, actually, no, Vermont usually posts the lowest rate of homicide per 100,000 per year of any state in the US. No reason why it would not work the same in Arizona.

Vermont

You had me going for a second there Carl N. Brown LOL. The 2ndAMD is alive and well here in Vermont but I foresee bad times coming with the Gov election on the horizon. We have one candidate that has tried to ban lead ammo and wants all guns in a state data base with all the individual info.
But, yet, we have senators that have/are invested in Century Arms...Hmmm?

C'mon down, Jason, the water is warm in AZ! Actually, EVERYTHING is warm in AZ. You know it's summer when the cold water pipes deliver warm water...

Jason W

Bartlett(spelling?) is the one, she even mentioned about closing our range in Lyndonville some time back. Note: neat stuff to know, we are an FFL and in the last year, almost every vet that purchased a firearm had a "delay", off topic but interesting.

Sorry

I hit the wrong icon...no sarcasm intended. Carl N. Brown had me going for a second with the blood overflowing the streets and being like the wild west in Vermont.....then I finished the rest of the paragraph.

Stay safe gents.

Guns - out.

Semper Fi.

Historically, our lawmakers are pretty good about gun laws, as in not making any new ones. Do you remember a few years back when some people were whining about noise from existing ranges, and the VT House told them where they could put it?

Vermont ranges

Hey Jason W, Yep I remember that and I was thankful for the Houses response. Right now the Derby Range is going through the same stuff again with a neighbor. He liked to drive to the range and tell everyone it was closed and no shooting after 4 pm. He pestered the shooters enough that they put a No Trespass order on him. Then he hired a lawyer and got a few others to follow him. I haven't checked on the status of it lately. I'm sure it's still going on. I've mostly refrained to shooting on my own range at home or go to Lyndonville and don't bother with Derby any more. That jerk was also standing out side the range and writing down plate numbers....WHY.
