I saw that video on the news tonight

I had some friends over who don't share my views on much and were amazed that I was keen on supporting the lawsuit.

it was kind of surprising to see that on bay area news...they show it here in Reno.

The reporter in that video asked the question I have bben thinking since that story first aired. How much further would those cops have gone if the cameras weren't there? Love the lawyers two comments, "this case is a lawyers dream" and I want to get even with those "bas#ards" for doing this" Hope she wins huge, I know the taxpayers will foot the bill, but hope she wins huge anyway.

Am I nuts or is that guy who she hired as her lawyer the same dude who was hanging out in shorts screaming about how "there will be gunfire!" if the police tried to take him out of his house?

It's gotta be him!

I want to see the individuals who issued these illegal orders and those who executed them punished and made to pay for the damgages they caused. What I do not want to see happen is that police and fire department will prohibit their employees from assisting another jurisdiction in a time of disaster due to the fear of liability. As such, in this case, I do not want the Califorinia agency that loaned these officers to be exposed to liability. The CHP did not send their officers to NOLA to carry out illegal orders.

I want police and fire departments to be perfectly clear on the fact that the Constitution continues to apply when they are loaning their men to another jurisdiction, and that it's not enough that you didn't send them there to violate rights, they have to actually refrain from violating rights while they're there, every bit as much as if they were at home.

It's not like cops suddenly forget what they are and aren't supposed to be doing, when they get more than 50 miles from home...

Exactly. So let's hold the individuals accountable, not the departments (taxpayers) back home.
