The guys say'n witness is a crap shoot don't know sh*t about the new guns. Youn can get the super in most of the line from plastic to steel sa/da and factory custom at 1/2 the price or less. They also have full support of the cases. and unlike some you can shoot 9x23 in the super barrel safely. Also with you wish to change to a 9mm,40s&w,45 or 10mm to it;s only around a $200 +or= depending on the kit to make the change. hardluk1, I do like the ability to easily convert calibers. While I will not be allowed to buy 9mm ammo myself, it is far cheaper than .38 super and my plan is to use a 9mm conversion kit to shoot 9mm for regular practice with my range buddies while keeping most of my Super rounds for carry and defense.

You state that the super is available in the polymer (plastic) Witnesses, but it doesn't say so on the EAA site. Can I actually get one or do I have to buy a 9mm version and use a 38 super conversion kit? It makes a difference because my permit will not allow me to buy a 9mm gun.

Springfield 1911 comped .38 Super with an Aimpoint. It is some kind of sweet. I also have a Colt Series 80 Enhanced in .38 Super. Let me try a link to a pic of both.

Anything with EAA involved will always be a crap shoot. I have my doubts about Tanfoglio, and why they would continue to use such a cheeseball outfit, but they can crank out some darn nice pistols when they feel like it. I've had several Witnesses, a few have been darn good pistols, a couple have been dogs. Probably my favorite pistols truthfully, but I am not going to pretend they're perfect.

tropical buzz Your right that from the factory you can only grt the super in the full size But the problem i guess is you not being able to have a 9x19 cause it would be just a barrel swap or aftermarket barrel. Or as some have done rechamber . Maybe the guns you would be getting would be from the eruo build sheets and would then be offered in different cal like 9x21 maybe. The match or standard full or the cheapest two to start as 38 super.
alblis your right about eaa to some extent I do think some of the older guns have a problem in that there is knot a good company support here but with henning and several other out side companies there is some back up and it is slowly getting better. I only have a about 1500 rounds total through mine but other than breaking the mags down to debur the followers following 1 feed problem when new and clean and oil i have not had a single feed problem ,just bang ,bang,bang. Better than some high dollar mainsays pistols i see .

Are ALL of the Tanfaglio pistols in the Witness lineup convertable to other than original calibers?

I've been to the website but, at least to me, it's not clear that the Elite models with their full length large frames as in the Witness Gold Team and the Witness Limited match pistols are convertable.
