Taurus 1911 38 super

CDNN has a Taurus 1911 38 super for $399.

I am so tempted to buy it and start reloading 38 super.

Anyone shoot this gun and have any feedback on either the gun or 38 super ammo?

I've got the Taurus .38 Super, so far its been 100% with a variety of factory ammo and my reloads. Nice shooter, but the round count is trivial compared to what I've put thru my Taurus 9mm 1911 which has also been 100% out of the box.

I think its a great buy at $399 plus shipping and transfer, order some spare mags from CDNN while you are at it, the Metalform they sell work great and are priced right. I paid $450 + tax for mine at a gun show.

Do some research here on THR. I remember reading that there was minimal barrel support on the Taurus Supers and as a result the brass suffered from nasty case head expansion.

That would be an eye opener if true.

I come from where the Taurus PT1911 .38 Super owners congregate and they have never had a problem with their pistols.
