does FL (who does not recognize non-resident licenses) honor their own non-resident license?
No: they make you show proof of training, send fingerprints and photos, and then they cash your check and give you a laminated "License to Carry Concealed Weapons"...

And then arrest you for doing so.:banghead:

Whaaaaat??? Are you serious??? So, if someone from California who does not have a CCW Permit for CA but applies/receives a FL Non-Resident Permit and carries in FL while vacationing will get arrested??? OMG

"Remember, states like ID, OR and WA (and several others) allow loaded OC without a permit,"

Herrman is CLOSE on this one... large swaths of the populated areas ( mostly Portland and the surrounding cities) have local ordinances specifically in place to forbid Open carry of ANY kind.

State pre-emption law gives the CHL holder the right to Open carry in these areas, but expect that if you exercise this right, to be stopped repeatedly, or have some nutbag start sprinting away screaming "GUN GUN GUN GUN GUN"... even if you're walking by pushing a stroller and singing Disney movie theme songs.

No. Not serious. The first response was sarcastic. (up-turned eyes smiley).

The whole point of the FL OOS permit is to allow those whose other permits are not honored by FL (folks residing in states without reciprocity with FL) to be able to carry legally in FL.

Your statement may be true for Oregon, but it is not even remotely close to being true for Washington or Idaho.

Yes, I am sorry, in OR, Portland metro, Astoria and Salem restict your right to OC loaded, but I do not consider that a "large part", what maybe 1% or 2% of the state?

So, I though I would a a MT quirk,,,you can OC into a bar or restaurant that serves alcohol, but you cannot CC with any permit...how about that one?
