I have a Norinco 97 shotgun, new in the box, with upgraded walnut stock.
Does anyone have any ideal what these are selling for now?
It was passed on to me by a deceased relative.

What configuration is it? The trench versions sell for around $400, riot and field are less.

Chinese 1897 in excellent condition is $350 gun. No MIM or pot metal parts, baby!;) Original Winchester 1897 in very good condition is $600+ gun (more if it has shorter barrel with original light choke constriction like 26" 1/4 or 1/2 choke), oh yeh!

This one is new in the box, unfired and still wrapped in plastic with the antirust paper inside.

I've got one. A little rough out of the box. Smoothed up with use. I like it and it saves wear and tear on my real Win 97. I got it at Big 5 Sporting Goods years ago. I think it was less than $350. Money well spent.

They also made a reproduction pump called the "93/97". Its ejection port is wider at the rear than the '97 clone's.

It was never approved for use in SASS cowboy action matches which hurts its value somewhat. It IS legal for SASS Wild Bunch Action Shooting.

You guys are gona talk me in to keeping it. I think this is one of those pump actions, you can keep your finger on the trigger and it keeps firing, or am I wrong. Thanks

You are right if you mean holding down the trigger and cycling the action keeps it firing. Yes you should keep it. Even though it is not an original Win 97, it is still a fun and cool looking gun that coincidently can be used to defend your life. Unscrew the butt plate and insert a mercury recoil reducer and it becomes more of a trotter than a bucking bronco.

That's correct - the 97 doesn't have a disconnector the way most modern designs do. It is however designed so that the bolt has to be closed/locked before it can fire (unless parts are worn/broken).

You could do worse than to keep it ... I have one, and like it a lot.

JIMMYK: My Son and I both have had our Norinco 97 for several years. And have never had a one bit of trouble with either of them. We use them for just about everthing from Cowboy Action Shooting, to Hunting. If You used it for a while the action will smooth right up. I use my Norinco alot more than my original 97 Win. We think they are great Shotguns and neither one of ours are for sale.

Well fellas, considering what I have in it, which is nothing, guess I'll hang on to it. Now I have to figure out if the FN FAL he left me is worth keeping.
He had it made for him at some place called Ohio Rapid Fire.
Anyone ever heard of this outfit?

IIRC there was 2 or 3 generations of the Norinco 97. Each version was a upgrade to fix some minor problems with the previous model.
