My results:
AK 10 shot group, one missed the paper due to me messing up:

SKS 10 shot group:

The ak has an arsenal 7.62 compensator, ultimak front rail, and an ultradot 30mm sight.

My SKS has a tech rear sight, 20" barrel, and a john masen extended butt pad. I'm going to get the kivaari trigger job done to it.

I shot in a farely rapid succession, and didn't spend too much time at all in between shots. Both were shooting WOLF MC 7.62x39 HP.

I realize these groups aren't the BEST, but for an SKS and AK, and a person that hasn't shot them for a long time; they aren't bad. It was hard to see the dot perfectly at 100 yards, and I was using an 8x11 sheet of paper. If I get some glasses I'll do even better.

Are you kidding? Those groups are pretty damn good for those kind of rifles. I work occasionally as a range officer at my local range and there are plenty of guys out there every weekend with the same rifles. The target backboards are about 18"x24" and there are plenty of times where those guys are missing not only the target, but the backboard itself.

Granted a lot of it has to do with the shooter, but minute of bad guy to 100yds is about all you'd ever need out of either of those rifles.

I bought a Norinco off of a buddy about a year ago and put 14 rounds through it before putting away for the next Katrina. at 25yds offhand I shot two 2" groups of 5 shots. I then put the rifle on a wooden block for a rest and shot this group of 4 at 50yds, minus the flyer it would have been pretty good.

Matrix187 my groups at 100 yards with my norinco 20" and tech sight are VERY similar. When I had a scope on it, the groups shrank to ~3". I normally shoot wolf or brown bear.

late post- I'm the same way as you. I have trouble picking out the bullseye at 100 yards as well so I just aim at the middle of paper.

That's basically the group I shot today with mine, 6" at 100 yards. I've got a Yugo 59/66 and was shooting Wolf 122 gr FMJ. My group was 20 rounds, measured 6".:) This is good enough, combat accuracy.
