Any hands on experience with them? I just ordered some so hopefully they work out well.

.308 with a 24" 1-12 heavy bbl

I am waiting on some other to come in to compare...all 168 grain since that is what my rifle liked best in factory ammo.

That means I will have all these to sample and select to keep using:

Sierra BTHP Matchkings
Barnes TSX (first Barnes I will have ever loaded)
Hornady Match
Hornady AMAX
Nosler Custom Competition

Any others you would add to the list? I really hope the Hornady Match or Noslers win out as they are much cheaper and readily available around here (non-panic).

Also trying to decide which brass to use. I have LC Match (100), Federal Match (100), LC (200), SBS (200) and standard Federal cases (200).

The only bullets I have loaded much of are pull downs to fire form some of the brass I purchased.

Tagging for followup; just bought 1K of these off Midway, delivered last week. They were cheap enough I figured if nothing else I'll use them for autoloader food. :)

Planning on trying them out over the rest of this year with a bunch of different powders & rifles, up against sierras, hornaday, lapua, barnes, and others (including cnc lathe turned).

They are excellent bullets. Some compare them favorably to match kings. You will probably find they work well for you. Let us know what you think.

They're excellent bullets that place second only to Lapua, in my experience. I use them interchangeably with SMKs in .223 and .308.

Nosler makes some of the best stuff there is, generally speaking. Their pistol bullets are excellent too.

As above - Nosler CCs are same:same as SMKs, maybe even slightly more consistent in OAL. AMAX have been slightly better in 2 of my 308s but it takes 500-600 yds to see it.

They're also virtually all I use in 223.

I just started using the 155gr CCs. I like them better than the 168 gr Hornady A-Max I was shooting. I've got some 168gr Match Kings I haven't loaded yet, I'm really liking these 155gr Noslers over Varget.

Ya'll keep shooting SMKs, Nosler CCs are junk. Garbage. Don't use them.

Especially the .224 77s. They're a waste of money.

Keep shooting those Sierras.

<grin>

I've shot CC's,SMK's and A-Max's in my 700 308.The differences are small, but the A-Max is what I settled on,they seemed to be a little more consistent at longer ranges(500 and beyond). They're all good bullets.

I've got a bunch of them loaded up for 8x57 for load development using Varget based on Nosler's load data. I've heard really good things about them, but I haven't had a chance to shoot them yet. It has been too dang hot.

Update on my prior post.

I won our club rifle match with Nosler 168's today.

I'm sold. :)

Awesome Trent!

Back to the question. The local Junior High Power Rifle team uses the 77 grain 223 bullets exclusively. The match director buys them by the pallet.

When I asked him how he liked them, he said "see that Nosler Competition decal on my truck? See any others? I wouldn't have it there if I didn't like them a whole lot."

I've done some load development and practice with them myself. The only difference I see between them and the SMK is the lower price.

I received my first 100 of these today. Question for those that use them...

Do you have these marks on your bullets? Thanks.

Yes, my 77gr CCs have those marks.

Yes, I was pissed off when I first saw them. Later found out those lines are simply folds from when the ogive is formed into the jacket. I've evens seen reports that some Berger Hybrids have similar markings.

No, the lines don't impact accuracy ONE BIT. At least they didn't in my rifle.

Just know that 168 gr bullets can start having problems around 1,000 yards when they go transonic. If you want to do shooting at those ranges you might end up working up a load with 175 gr bullets.

Yep. My SMK's were erratic at 950 yards but not 850.
