Pick sdw for the lady

I don't know how many times I've seen a couple come into one of my favorite gun shops to help her select a weapon, and almost invariably she goes for the "cute little auto." You have hit dead on the same reason I suggest a "non-auto" handgun---racking the slide. An auto is a single shot gun until it loads the next round. Go for the revolving gun. Since she won't be "packing" it doesn't have to be either little or lightweight. As long as she stays in her car (or bedroom?) the size and weight is unimportant. Get one as big and heavy as she can handle. Bigger is better. Heavier is better. I have a .357 but never use .357's in it---I shoot 38spl+p. Actually I don't mind the recoil---it's the shock wave blast in the face I don't like. I have a couple big N-frame Smiths with trigger weights (when I bought them) that were just a bit much for me. My "pistolsmith" lightened the trigger weight for me and they work just fine. Stay away from the snubbies and lightweight thngs. A full-lug barrel might also help.
