Not so Hot Experience with October Country

Hi Guys,
I'm always looking for new items and sources and came across "October Country" on the web. I placed a small order for some bulk red pillow ticking, a palm saver, Ball Bag and Wooden Storage Box. Today I received the shipment. They did not send the RMC Palmsaver I ordered, but a smaller, more expensive Traditions Model, The Bulk Pillow ticking was not Red nor Pillow ticking, it was Plain White, The wooden storage box, although exactly what I was looking for, does not seat tightly when closed. The Ball Bag at least, was fine.

It's more trouble and expense than it's worth to return the items, I'll just stain the Patch material so I can differentiate quickly from my thicker or thinner stuff. The Palmsaver will work, the box is for storing extra Jags, Spouts, Mops and stuff like that on a shelf so it's "OK".

But all in all, I don't think I'll be ordering from them again and cannot recommend them based on the service. I've dropped them an email, I'll let you know what they have to say.

Quick Edit: in reviewing my Invoice, they sent me the smaller but more expensive Traditions Palm Saver... but charged me the lesser RMC Price...but still, not what I ordered.

When outfits start to give shoddy products, they soon lose the black ink on the bottom line. Just ask Remington about that.

A little coarse then fine sanding cured the top catching.... a sliding top and it has Bowed, so the tops edge and end of the tenon was catching. You would think they would inspect this product before they shipped it.
 
They make some nice kit. Their horns are really good for the money and they make excellent ramrods. They make stuff you can't find anywhere's else. Never had a bad order from them but I'll admit it's only been about thrice that I've ordered from them. I usually order from Track which seems is about every 15 minutes and twice that on Sunday, have probably placed 100 orders with them and they've all been perfect every time.

Based on that Satisfaction Guarantee and for the sake of their business and for the sake of future customers you'd being doing everyone including yourself to return the unsatisfactory items and have them pay the return shipping. This is the only way they will know there is a problem, the only way they can make adjustments to their process and the only way a legit business can redeem themselves. Don't settle because it just encourages everyone else to lower the bar.
 
I did email them but as of this posting have not yet received a response. We shall see. A little file and exact work resolved the box issue. What triggered the order was the pillow ticked patch cloth in the size i was looking for, the other stuff was add on... had that been correct I probably would not have made a peep.
