Anyone else get an ominous feeling? I mean, I know plenty of banks pretty much require just about every form of paperwork or ID imaginable for a morgage. But hey, it's THEIR money and plenty of it at that, so ya can't blame them in that respect. Still... Still, I just keep imaging the day when it's some guy in a leather trenchcoat saying "Papers please."

A friend of mine just commented that she saw similiar required paperwork back in Soviet era Romania. Pretty much even had the same wording, sans "USA Patriot Act. " :banghead:

Don't worry, it will only likely get worse from here.

I upgraded to a 2000 GMC pickemup back in February. Same deal. The paperwork lady at the Georgia dealership never turned a hair at my Texas CHL.

Funny. The bank folks think it's idiotic. The car dealer folks think it's idiotic. WE think it's idiotic.

Conclusion: We're ruled by idiots.

Question: Who reads all that stuff? After all, some 15 million NEW cars are sold, each year. I dunno how many used cars get sold. Dunno if this is also a condition of leased cars...

I wasn't sure if I was being overly sensitive or not. But the bottom line is, I sold out and filled the damn thing out. If I didn't I didn't get the loan.
Makes me wonder if I ,despite all my high talk, will also just go along to get along when the gun bans, turn ins, and buy-backs start
