The Brady Campaign is deliberately misrepresenting information as to what the law actually authorizes residents to do.
All of the necessary factors to warrant the use of deadly force must still be present before it may be used by a Florida resident. Being "frightened" or "threatened" has nothing to do with it. The only difference between use of deadly force in public in Florida and say, Massachusetts, is the removal of the "duty to retreat" requirement.
I'm deeply saddened that the Democratic Party continues to ally themselves with people like the Brady Campaign, but unsurprised.
Right now it's a running between Florida and Texas as far as where I want my kids to grow up. Florida is winning.
