O has been talking about understanding and respecting the rights of hunters and skeet shooters when it comes to the 2nd Amendment. He "feels and understands" us sportsman, yeah right.... Hunters don't use or need high cap mags or "assault" weapons. "Assault weapon" aka, tricked out semi-auto" Hmmmm, I don't think the 2nd amendment says "Hunters/skeet shooters" have the right to keep and bare arms". Hunting is not part of the amendment. The 2nd amendment has allot more to do with hunting or skeet.

let's not become complacent in protecting our rights.

One thing that I ponder is what has changed..When in high school (1970's) we had guns in our cars, in the high school parking lot. No big deal. If someone was going to cause harm, they did it to themselves, in the barn, or their basement or on a back road. I had a couple of friends who were despondent and committed suicide, but never harmed innocents. Why they did what they did I'll never know...

Banning high cap magazines is like making it illegal to fly a plane into the world trade center.......it's already illegal.........what do we do limit the number of pounds of av gas in a jet??

The difference is that now the government feels the need to protect us from ourselves whether it is drugs, firearms, or large cups of soda.

This need to micro manage people's lives is common these days with both parties on certain issues. On the gun control issue though, politicians on the Democrat side of the fence are by far the most willing to restrict firearm ownership with the majority of people behind the AWB being Democrats.

1984 anyone? Ayn Rand? Unfortunately we must remain ever vigilant if we're to keep what Rights we have left. Contact your representatives, donate to the NRA-ILA and other pro gun organizations, and get involved come election times.

The difference is that now the government feels the need to protect us from ourselves whether it is drugs, firearms, or large cups of soda.

They're conditioning us to become increasingly dependent on the federal government, constantly testing how much oppression we are willing to tolerate without reacting in any substantial way, which apparently is a lot these days.

A major part of the agenda is also to protect the country as a whole from solvency, which again is primarily perpetrated by Democrats. Nevertheless, a number of Republicans are complicit in both disarming the population and deliberately bankrupting the country (they well know that you can't spend more than you make), so we can't depend on a particular party, regardless of its overall philosophy. We've seen all of this before, folks, in other countries, both in the past and the present. Those who endeavor to "fundamentally change" (Obama's words) an entire country must first bring the current country to its knees, blaming it on the current Constitution and economic system. Something very bad is going to happen at some point if we don't stop it somehow, and the process has accelerated enormously during the past decade. :uhoh:

They and the press spin EVERYTHING.

"Never let a crisis go to waste" what do YOU think this means!?! They have a goal, an agenda.

Look at the twist here:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/nra-backed-federal-limits-on-gun-lawsuits-frustrate-victims-their-attorneys/2013/01/31/a4f101da-69b3-11e2-95b3-272d604a10a3_story.html

Sometimes subtle - making guns safer tied to Sandy Hook. For us we would think about the mechanics of a gun and perhaps respond: "The guns did not discharge differently than designed". People with an agenda use vagaries to try and persuade the less knowledgeable - that's always a clue. They do it with a purpose, yes sometimes this persuasion is a duped reporter (lazy, just says what his peers say) but it's not just always poor writing or clueless reporters.

Just more propaganda from the left. That's all it is anymore too from the media. Plain and simple propaganda ala the old USSR and the Chicoms. Same ol' thing....

It is just a desperate attempt to try and divide a group they can't conquer while it is united. Look at past legislation, when is the last time gun owners gave them what they wantedand they went away? It has never happened anywhere in the world - in Australia they still try to take even more from the few gun owners that remain in that super-regulated environment. In England, they are runnng around demanding blunt tips on all the knives and an end to hunting.

They are trying to split the group by dangling the lure that if they just give up one part of the group, the rest will be safe. That tactic only works though when you are going after a minority within the group. Semi-auto owners are now the majority of gun owners. You'd have better luck trying to convince semi-auto guys to give up the skeet gun crowd (except that having been exposed to such tactics for the last 80 or so years, they wouldn't buy in).

This is the real reason for the big push now. Soon demographics will make it very difficult to sell that nonsense.

There are a lot of hunters who could care less if 'non-traditional' firearms were taken off the market. They don't use them, have no interest in them, from their perspective their hunting would not be affected in the least, and they believe supporting such a move would divert the heat and make their sport more secure. If 'bama and his crew can peel them off to their side the goal is closer.

Never try to confuse politicians with the facts. Politics=Spin. What better way for these guys to keep the focus off a socialist agenda and sinking economy than a highly charged emotional issue like gun violence.

Seeing Obama with a Skeet gun convinces me that this is just another page in the POTUS playbook, to show and align with gun owners that Dear Leader is "one of us". What a crock. The current POTUS is a liar and is complicit in the murders of hundreds of innocents with Fast & Furious, allowed F&F to happen as a ploy to make gun owners look like criminals.

If people are naive enough to buy into this Goebbels-like photo op, they are deluded sheeple. Propaganda is propaganda, whether it came from the Reichstag or the White House.

N.Y.S. has included the Remington Tactical 1100 on the new list of banned firearms.
Which is a tube fed, semi auto, 9 shot shotgun.
So much for their repeated lies--they want to ban them all.
