Last week I sent my Springfield GI .45 to Novak for new front and rear sights. I got the 3 dot sights and I believe the rear was drop in and they had to mill the front for the new white dot stake sight. I haven't gotten it back yet and I can't wait. I thought about getting the low mount, but that would have been $83 more for the low sights and another $25 more to mill the rear of my slide.
I'll post pics when I get it back. Anyone else had this done? Pics?

How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking? I have the same gun (Springfield GI 1911) and was wanting to upgrade the sights.

Awww. No lo-mount??? I'd go for the slicker look of the milled slide. Either way, the Novak's are sweet.

Here's My Colt M1991 Commander that just came back from having Novaks installed. Well worth the $85 for the installation. I bought the sights from Brownells and had a local 'smith do the milling.

price

I paid $99.90 for the white dot front and rear sights installed+$25 to mill the front of the slide+$12 shipping back to me. Not a bad deal at all. I paid $140 total. The total on the low mounts would have been $245, and I only gave $320 for the pistol anyway.

Thanks for the compliments on the Colt. Would you believe I picked it up in a pawn shop for $410!

Now that the Novaks are on it, I'm going to parkerize it and apply GunKote over top of that for a super durable finish. I just have to wait for a day when the wife is out of the house so I can stink up her oven :D
