Except for a gun way cheaper to make and sell for double the price as the old.
Because the original was either not profitable, or not profitable enough...

it was there best selling bolt action.Hence the original was either not profitable, or not profitable enough...

The oracle was DPMS's best selling rifle and now they are out of business. Just because you sell something doesn't mean it was profitable.
But DPMS went out of business, they didn't discontinue their best seller.
They discontinued being in business, because they failed to make a profit.
I got an inline compensator for mine, it quieted it down a good bit from the shooter's (and bystander's) positions.A better plan might be to install a PIG instead of a Flash Suppressor to direct the noise forward
Personally, I think they discontinued it because its a race to sell the cheapest to be made for the most profits. It's painfully obvious to me anyways.
Let's see:
New CZ offering: Extruded aluminum, no fancy wood with finishes, nitride or phosphate type finish
527: Steel, blued, wood stock
And the new offering is expected to sell at a higher cost, cha-ching!
Which one is going to have more margins? And they'll promote it as better than the past.
One has to analyze their P&L's, overhead costs (see upper management siphon of money), extreme increase in competition (all the new AR manufacturers), etc. to understand why they failed to make a profit. You are assuming their best seller was losing them money, I don't have the insider information to suggest that. At the same time I'm in the same boat as to my reasoning behind CZ discontinuing their 527, but something tells me I'm correct with my above post.
I found a Radical arms AR 15 in 7.62x39. for 500.00. I wonder if my plated bullet loads would operate it? I loaded them with 9 grains of unique.
I do not know much about AR'S. I don't want an AK because of no scope rail/mount.
I like the howa just not the bottom plastic, worth the money getting a metal one. Thanks for the reply. I need to be patent. Im thinking the Howa's are held up in the shipping port mess in Cali.
Im going with a walnut stock.
