I applied the Frog Lube to my new gun after 150 rounds, holy cow, I have cleaned new guns before , "more than I want to remember", but this stuff when used with the blow dryer is the bomb. The metal is like velvet. I used it on a few knives while I was at it, and nothing sticks to them anymore.
I had used it without the heat, wasn't impressed. I watched a video on the proper way to use it, and it is amazing stuff.
Props to those guys for sending the troops a quarter million free samples.

A member here did some pretty exhaustive tests with 40-some different lubes recently. Frog Lube came out on top.

Hair dryers/heat....

I might buy some Frog-Lube CLP soon.
If you were not aware, the product line was R&Ded by a former US Navy SEAL.
:D
It's even sold in the gift shop of the SEAL/UDT museum in SE Florida.
I don't own a hair dryer & Im not one for heat applications but the recent THR tests & other + reviews of Frog-Lube make me want to try it.
I've used Ballistol & LPX in the past with good results.
FWIW; Hornady's One Shot gun care product did very well in the THR T&E also.

I love Frog Lube. I use it on all my firearms now. Works great.

The only thing I don't like is their cleaning "solvent". It doesn't seem to clean as well as it should, basically just wets the surface down to be wiped off.

Granted that's all it needs, but it just seems lacking. But all in all, the guns are lubed well, protected and wipe away clean as hell.

I'm, also, a big believer in FrogLube. I don't know why more people don't read and follow the directions, though? It's NOT an oil, and shouldn't be used like an oil. ALL excess residue should be carefully wiped off the gun; and excess FrogLube should be kept out of the action.

IF THE METAL SURFACE IS SMOOTH 'N SHINY THEN YOUR JOB IS DONE!

Three things I've noticed: (1) The paste works better than the liquid. (2) It takes, at least, two separate applications to get a really slick surface; and three or four coatings over a week or two's time is even better. (3) I keep the gun upside down in order to prevent excess heated lube from dripping into the action. (Where it can build up, congeal, and thus make the sear/firing pin tacky.)

When you learn how to apply FrogLube correctly it's really good stuff. It has become my preferred long term protectant for, 'safe queens'; and, in all the years that I've been cleaning guns, I've never found a better moisture inhibitor that's suitable for daily use over an extended period of time, and with only an occasional wipe down or touch-up.

It's MUCH BETTER than any CLP, or gun oil I've ever used. In fact, as a surface protectant, I like FrogLube even better than Carnauba wax! FrogLube is not the very best rust inhibitor on the market; but it's, definitely, one of the top three; and (happily) it's the only rust inhibitor that's completely non-carcinogenic. In fact I apply it with my bare hands!

NOTE: The best solvent to use for surface preparation prior to applying that first coat of FrogLube is common ordinary 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. I get mine at the local WalMart Pharmacy.

I like it too! I don't like having to get out gloves to clean my guns and its bio-friendly formula smells good too. You will still need a solvent for the barrel. Are hair dryers suitable? I've been using (carefully) a heat gun and it works awesome. I'm also curious to try the new Rand CLP which sounds like it is supposed to do the same thing without the heating part. If you go to there website they will send you a free sample.

^^ Sounds like you might have to be LE or military to get the free sample. They have a disclaimer and form to fill out.

FL....

I got a new CLP tube(4.0 fl oz) of FrogLube from www.midwayusa.com .
I just cleaned my handcuffs with it today. :D
It has a light mint smell that I say seems like Pepto Bismal.
I haven't cleaned my Glock 21 generation 04 .45acp yet with Frog Lube but I did clean a few mags with a few drops.

I don't plan to heat the FL product but I've heard it might help. The liquid CLP is fine for my uses.
The only big - is the Frog Lube price but it's far better than other CLP/gun care products like LPX/Breakfree/Slip2000/Flitz. ;)

As for Rand CLP & SEAL1.net I would just buy Frog Lube. You can try other brands but they might not work as well(for the same amount of $$$ too).

El Paso....

I'll say El Paso, but I did see a Youtube.com video where the Glock owner(T&E of Frog Lube) stated Glock armorer instructors said to do a full disassembly of a Glock pistol & soak the parts in alcohol once a year. :uhoh:

I'm not sure if soaking Glock parts in alcohol is really needed but I don't think it would hurt it either.
