I won't go over the Heller ruling, too many threads on too many forums already cover that, but I do want to talk about the fight ahead.

We now have a very desperate and angry group of opponents who have just learned that their primary objective just got a lot harder to achieve. While we start the fight on both the Legislative and Legal fronts to win back our rights we have lost, our opponents will be stepping up their efforts in order to regain the ground they just lost. They will do everything in their power to regain the momentum of this battle including a new constitutional amendment on down to underhanded tactics that will be considered dirty even by their own camp. Now is not the time to relax, in fact now is the time to move against the anti gun rights camp and strengthen our victory. You can do this by contacting your representatives and senators on ANY legislation that is even remotely gun related. You can contact your local media when they have a gun story and complement or complain on their bias if any. You can donate money to, or better yet join, your favorite gun rights groups. You can do anything to further our cause but don't let your guard down, lets keep the momentum that we now have.

For you sports fans remember we are down by three points with 16 seconds on the clock and we just intercepted the ball on the thirty five yard line. We can loose this, we can force it into overtime, or we can win it.

I agree. Until such time as all of the oppressive laws are repealed and our natural rights are recognized for all time, we can not rest. The celebrations are way too early and without merit as far as I am concerned.

Next they need to head on over for Chicago, win that one and it's pretty much smooth sailing after that. This got the ball rolling a little faster. A little is better than none at all.

So we are behind right? And the antis are ahead? Are "teams" that are "ahead" usually "very desperate and angry"?

You've got it completely backwards. We are ahead, and can lose it by getting complacent.

I don't think the celebrations are without merit. We have won a great victory today, and this victory should be celebrated. I do agree however, that the war is FAR from over.

Starting in November. 5-4 was too close - the next Supreme Court appointment is going to be absolutely critical.

I also think that Chicago is probably the next best target for advocating our rights. Law suits have already been filed. I don't know about other cities or ordinances.

Amen, G.A. Heath. I agree. Now, no NEVER is the time to become compacent about our 2nd Amendment right. We need to keep working and pushing back. Let's get rid of the gun-free killing zones, state by state.
