Just called his office. The lady who answered was very nice. It took me about 1 minute to call.

Yes the political system is extremely complicated. I think of it as similar to the Ptolemaic Universe models. It kind of sorta works, but with each passing year it gets more and more complicated. Eventually you get to the point that you just need to throw the entire thing out and start from scratch.

It's all over now. Florida GOP Senator Diaz de la Portilla explains why he keeps killing pro-gun bills. He listens to Sheriffs, college professors, and students among others. And he'll kill them next year and the next year as long as he holds the hammer.

I read this Tampa Bay Times article over twice but it is still hard to believe. This was emailed to me by the NRA-ILA:

Sen. Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, R-Miami, on Wednesday laid out his rationale for why he decided to kill several controversial gun and immigration bills by not scheduling them for a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which he chairs, and he warned he will kill the bills again next year if they return.

Hopefully, the NRA will contribute heavily to his opponent next election, and the good folks of Florida will vote him out.
