NRA tags on your vehicle: don't drive like a nut!

The LAST bumper sticker I will ever have was the peace sign 1967. When it comes to guns, politics and sex discretion seems prudent. I want a big don't eff with me or else but I'm discrete.

"Hey, there is a SUV with a NRA bumper sticker - bet its got guns or some good stuff inside.... Nobody around, let's break a windo.

please...
i've had nra stickers on my trucks and suv's for 11 years now and never had a problem. my wife's van has had a smith & wesson sticker on it for 2 years and no problems there, either.

as far as erratic driving goes... i wish more people would be more courteous on the road, regardless of club affiliation.

If you're breaking into a car, your #1 concern is "Is the owner going to be coming back while I'm here?" Your #2 concern is "Is he going to shoot me?"

Hmmm...

OK, I think we can narrow down the two silliest statements of this thread to the following:

"Hey, there is a SUV with a NRA bumper sticker - bet its got guns or some good stuff inside.... Nobody around, let's break a windo"

-versus-

"And don't stick a confederate flag right next to it... "

It's heritage, not hate. Get over it.
It's a symbol of treason born by those whose will was to tear our country asunder; born by those responsible for the deaths of more Americans than all of our other wars combined; born by those fighting for a culture doomed to die on it's own anyway; born by those, most of whom, were too ignorant to even know what they were fighting for and just blindly followed their leaders.

It's history, not heritage. But this is America and if you want to display it go ahead just don't be surprised when not everyone else is as pleased to see it as you are to display it. Deal with it.

And before anyone calls me a $%^& Yankee know that I was born and raised in the south and have spent all of my adult years except those in the military (most of those overseas) in the south.

I sense the thread lock meter is pegged way into the red zone...

I agree that threadlock is imminent, considering the hate just displayed by Werewolf. Have you ever considered that it is just a symbol and means different things to different people? I have lived in the south my whole life, and the Confederate Flag means NOTHING to me at all, one way or the other. Get over it. If people want to display it, thats fine. Nothing wrong with the Black Power symbol either.

Celebrate diversity!

Well before the mods get back from church Werewolf, let me say those in the south wanted to govern themselves and not the north. A civil war is battle for control of a single area. The south did not want control of the north - they merely wanted to withdrawl from the union that their soverign states chose to enter. They never thought they couldn't choose to leave as well.

Lincoln and the north are responsible for those deaths because he started that war and it was a war of northern aggression!

Oh and for the record, born and bred in N.J. and think Conf. flags are usually a racist symbol, but lets not re-write history while we're at it.

Scott

Bumper stickers are a long way from activism, and this thread was originally in the Activism forum.

It looks like it couldn't be kept within THR standards in General Discussions either.
