Driving from TX to NV. Have TX CHL. NM and AZ have reciprocity so no problem but not sure if/how I am allowed to carry a loaded pistol in my car in NV.
Any insight? TIA

There are no special provisions in Nevada law regarding handguns for inside a motor vehicle. Therefore, this is what is illegal, inside a vehicle, without a license:

“Concealed firearm” means a loaded or unloaded pistol, revolver or other firearm which is carried upon a person in such a manner as not to be discernible by ordinary observation.

It would appear as long as the handgun is not concealed upon the person, it would be legal in the vehicle.

There is a seperate NV statute which prohibits a loaded long gun in vehicles.

Some cities such as North Las Vegas will have ordinances banning firearms in vehicles. These ordinances are illegal and unenforceable according to state law.

NavyLCDR is correct, as long as its not concealed on your person or by your person, ie; sitting on it, you can have it in your vehicle. It can be sitting on the seat, under the seat, in the glove box or console.
As far as long guns are concerned, as long as there is not a round in the chamber, it is considered not loaded.
Las Vegas is another story all together. Metro does whatever they want and it could be a hassle.

The loaded handgun can not be concealed upon the person.

So, it's legal to have on the seat next to you, under your seat or in the vehicle's glove/utility compartment.

LVMPD considers portable containers to be an extension of the person ("off body carry").
So, it can not be loaded while in a bag/case/pack/purse/etc and if you are going to put it in a bag/case/pack/purse/etc, it should be unloaded and the bag/case/pack/purse should be locked.

Every time i drive back and forth to California (at least 3 times a year) there is no 12g 18.5 maverick with 5 rds of 00 under my seat, and the 92FS absolutely does not stay in the door kick panel. Act normal and dont touch them until you get to where you are going. BEfore i cross the California border, i always stop before the crossing and at least hide my pistol.

Seems according to the OP he did that already, since he knew AZ and NM have reciprocity. Nevada doesn't honor TX permits anyway so it's a moot point.
