Speed-Loaders in pouches for holster guns.

Speed-Strips for in a pocket for pocket revolvers.

I'm too old & weak to carry two guns.
And not nearly paranoid enough.

both

Right now I do NY reload and speed strips.

I usually carry a semi auto, but down a wing [ left arm ] I carry 2 snubs AND speed strips for both,in case it should come to that.

The new Qickstrips carry 8 rounds of 38/357 so I have a decent supply in the BDU pockets.

Currently using speed loaders but am considering speed strips instead as for .45 Colt, they just wiggle too much in the speed loader. The other possibility I'm considering is a 2x2x2 belt pouch.

All of the above, depending upon the guns involved and the situation.

As mentioned, some revolvers are cut for moon clips. This should be added as an option.

I will use speed strips when concealment is very important. They give me a slow full reload or a fast partial reload. Speed loaders and moon clips are bulky and print in the pocket. I jam a rag in the pocket to break up the outline. I do prefer to carry them on the belt for consistency in presentation.

However, I will carry two revolvers if I carry only revolvers. A J-Frame is the secondary gun. It's so light it's almost free. I did vote for "NY Reload" since it is the fastest method.

Maybe, but it's not a hard and fast rule. It depends on what the primary gun is and where the reload is compared to what, where and how the second gun is.

moon clips!

i knew that i was forgetting one of the options, sorry

how are the 2x2x2's?

i was thinking of getting one myself, but only for hiking prolly...

The times I carried a revolver (Ruger SP101), I put the spare ammo in speed strips. Not the fastest reloading in the world, but much easier to carry, e.g., in the watch pocket of blue jeans.

I generally don't carry extra of anything, but if I feel for some reason there may be a need then I go with the NY reload option. I tend to worry more that I might lose possession of the gun or encounter a mechanical failure than I am that I'll need to recharge the gun.

My "reload preference" with revolvers is the full moon clip, preferably in 45 ACP. That is the fastest, smoothest and most trouble free reload imaginable for a DA revolver with a swing out cylinder.

Not the answer the OP was looking for I'm sure but it's still true.

What's in a name?

Thanks to New York's recently enacted SAFE Act, a New York reload will now only net you 16 rounds, assuming you already have two chambered. :)
