Fred Castro for President!

Geeze,

Is this really how you Ron Paul supporters want to be associated, with this?

We have some sharp people on this site that are RP supporters, but you do them no favors acting foolish, or your candidate either. I'll promise you RP would dissociate himself with you for the likes of this.

"I am 100% opposed to Barack Obama, but it is suprising that any one would openly support banning semiautos. I don't think ive ever heard a presidential canidate openly support a ban on ALL SEMI AUTOS."

I think one reason for such grandiose claims / aims is to then soften the legislation down only to "most" semi-autos (because of an overarching charity and spirit of munificent compromise, don'tcha know), or (damn those unreasonable, recalcitrant gun-owning bullies!) even "some" semi-autos, of which the sponsors are happy to provide a list, or a litany of especially frightening features.

I have read his book "The Audacity Of Hope" because it is wise to know thy opponent- He was really very quiet about gun control in it- The most damaging statement in the whole thing from a firearms perspective was when he said he was against firearms in the inner city- He made reference to firearms only three or four times in the enitre work-

Comparing this to his track record, IMHO, means that he is either downplaying his anti stance legitmately, or he is trying to snooker us- I believe it is the later-

Maybe so in Congress, but that's not why someone would put it in his campaign platform.

He's trying to snooker us. His approach seems rather clinton-esqe from '92. It will be a vague, insidious approach to the White house if he makes it past the primary.

Obama has a hard enough time committing to the 10 second soundbyte policies during his previous debates. His standard answer was "please check out my website"

During the Las Vegas debate, on UNLV audience member had a friend check his federalized healthcare policy on the Obama '08, and duly confronted him later in the debate since his website was all advertising an no substance.

Hilary will smoke him in the primary, and hopefully the repubs will do the same to her.

csbyte, that would certainly get the party started in any event!! Maybe I would be able to accomplish something meaningful in my lifetime.;)

Indicate which principles you support (if any) concerning gun issues.
X a) Ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons.
X b) Increase state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.
c) Maintain state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.
d) Ease state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.
e) Repeal state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms by law-abiding citizens.
f) Favor allowing citizens to carry concealed firearms.
X g) Require manufacturers to provide child-safety locks with firearms.
h) Other

It's been discussed at length. He hushed hushed it almost as soon as he announced his prez run (it disappeared off his website IIRC). Banning semi-autos would ban just about every gun in the USA.

So when Hillary gives him the nod for VP lets still write in Ron Paul to send a message. Its worth having him presiding over the senate:rolleyes:

FRED THOMPSON '08!:neener::D

On a serious note though, I agree O'Bama has no chance of being the Dem nominee. The Democrats seem to think that Hillary gives them the best chance of beating the Repub's. If Fred Thompson gets in, he will wipe the floor with Hillary. Talk about a stark contrast, nanny state socialism compared to a common sense freedom ideology. I think the latter would win out in spades.

People support him because he is half black and since so many people think that the black community is still opressed and underminded they feel sympathetic towards him. I have heard people say things such as "It's so hard for Obama because of his race to run against people with more expierence."

On Obama and Hillary:

Obama and Hillary are perfect examples of the type of person our entire system of government is designed to protect us against. These are the type people the founding fathers feared most when they began laying the foundations of our constitution and the bill of rights. It's pretty scary to think a significant percentage of the American voting population has become so ignorant and incompetent that they do not recognize socialism when it stares them in the face.

Barack Obama was a BOARD member of the JOYCE FOUNDATION. That makes him the biggest threat to freedom of all the candidates - and that takes work with this bunch of jokers.

If you don't think names count, do you think a candidate named Adolf would have a chance? As for Obama, those of us in Illinois who know him fear him. He has a way of charming people, even those who should know better. He is an anti-gun, ultra pro union legislator who never stood up to the Illinois Democrat machine, and is in fact a part of that machine.

Your deluding yourself if you think they don't recognize it. What they don't recognize is the threat of socialism. Most would be quite content to live in the UK, with it's constant surveillance and big brother gov't to keep them safe. They just don't see the problem with it. I was like that once, I admit. I know it sounds a little kooky, but the schools are nothing but socialist brainwashing facilities.

Obama and Hillary?

Can anyone say "lack of experience"?
Who is the last congressman elected to President?
Most of these guys have an anti-gun ora, and we are focusing on very anti-gun canidates in an anti-gun party?

Why not? Hussein is merely a name and I like to imagine that Americans are intelligent enough to realize that.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA nice try. Americans are responsible for the likes of Ted Kennedy getting re-elected 900 times. As a group, humans can be pretty stupid.

Also, politics is heavily influenced by names. It might sound retarded, but a politician having a middle name of Hussein now would be like John Hitler Smith running for President in 1945.

Barak Obama = M. T. Suit.

His platform is "I'm not Bush, nor do I have the baggage of Hilllary." He is trying/using the "triangluation" strategy, but not taking a real stand on any of the issues and focusing on being the media's darling.

He is a gun-grabbing Chicago liberal/socialist. Do not be fooled.
