I just caught the tail end of this walking in my house. He is apparently flying key Senators to meet with the parents of the Sandy Hook tragedy, today, immediately, to come back and influence other senate leaders into pushing his agenda past congress. I didn't get all the facts, but it sounds like a typical Obama curve ball type of strategy.
Let's stay on top of this, perhaps some more info will be released soon,
We may need another quick response to our elected officials, as they change their minds like other people change their socks.

To bad that our society is so controled by emotion. I wish people on both sides would wake up and see how the politicians exploit us.
Those parents have a cause and he is giving them their time in the sun, I grieve for their loss but he/they are using them to further an agenda that if successful will be the end to the last great hope here on earth.

I guess you missed the 60 Minutes segment last night where they had a room full of Sandy Hook parents?

It's a final act of desparation by a President who is starting to lose his political clout! Reid is protecting his Senate Democrats who are up for election in 2014 and Obama will have no clout at all after the 2014 elections. Lame Duck!!!

If the Democrats win back the House in 2014, or even if they win enough seats to have a very narrow minority, nothing will stop Connecticut's new laws (and more) from passing at the federal level.

0bama is banking on taking control of the house and maintaining control in the senate in 2014. If that happens, even as a lame duck, he needs no political clout.

He said he wants to govern for a couple years, those will probably be the years he choose to stop campaigning and start governing. When he is completely unopposed by a conservative majority, he will govern us right into hell. That is the legacy he is striving for.

We must not let this happen. And is is possible. Emotion is what generally rules the world, because most people operate that way. Obama plays that very well. We must not let this happen.

Doesn't this clown need some department to authorize the money for these multi million dollar trips he decides to undertake for his own agenda?
Like a budget secretary or someone?
Otherwise he is able to take money from people who don't agree with him, and use our money to hit us in the head with it. There has to be some kind of laws he's breaking.
This is not a necessary trip that concerns his role as commander and chief, it is him campaigning again, which he seems not to know the difference between.
I think we should ask for a jet to fly these senators to an NRA event, where they all finally learned what a rifle and magazine were before they were allowed to vote on anything concerning either.

Unless they are planing to retire from public life, the most important emotion in a politician's life is not weeping parents, but reelection. :uhoh:

they wouldn't listen. they'd all be on facebook and twitter from their gov't issue phones instead of paying attention.

NRA is on it,Senate Action on Gun Bills this Week

Dear NRA Member:

The U.S. Senate is set to act on anti-gun legislation as early as this week. These proposals are the latest attempt by anti-gun Senators to erode our Second Amendment rights by making it illegal for law-abiding gun owners to transfer firearms without the federal government’s approval; and by banning commonly owned semi-automatic rifles and magazines, to name a few. Unfortunately, none of these proposals address the critical issues of fixing our broken mental health system; securing our schools; or prosecuting violent criminals.

However, there is a proposal worthy of gun owners' support. Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Mark Begich (D-AK) have introduced S. 480, the "NICS Reporting Improvement Act of 2013", which will provide accurate definitions of persons who pose serious threats to themselves or others and therefore should be prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms, while protecting the rights of those who should not be included in NICS. Further, this legislation will protect the rights of America's veterans, by no longer allowing their Second Amendment freedoms to be denied based on an administrative finding that a person requires appointment of a representative to mange his financial affairs.

The NRA fully supports Senators Graham and Begich's important legislation.

The time is now. Please contact your U.S. Senators today, let them know you are a NRA member and encourage them to support S. 480 and to oppose all anti-gun legislation.

You can contact your U.S. Senators at 202-224-3121.

Or that six-figure consulting gig or board seat after they leave office... oh and some cushy jobs for his/her friends and family.

Elect, Re-elect, Re-elect.... Profit.

Are the taxpayers paying for this trip? Paying for lobbying to push an agenda doesn't seem like a legitimate use of my money.

We should have the Attorney General look into it :banghead:

This administration wastes so much money that it should be some type of crime.

My taxes are to fund the military, protect the border and repair the sections of interstate highway not able to be funded by the states they are in.

It is not for flying around this smug "(word too descriptive for this website)" to play golf with Tiger Woods, push his party's agendas without equally representing the otherside's point of view and his children's 5 figure a year tuition at a private school.

In his speech, he said "we need a vote" but N.Y. & CT didnt get a vote, they just walked in,closed the doors & came out & signed the bill into law.Kind of hypocritical i think...
