OC going to the gym?

I live in the land of no CCW, Illinois, and while I was at the gym, I wondered a few questions:

Can you OC in Illinois?

If so, If I open carried to my gym, since I couldn't work out with a gun on my side (no belt, could fall, gets in way), am I allowed to lock it in a locker? Or is the locker "CCW," or not DOJ approved to store a gun?

BTW, my gym doesn't even have lockers, so I'd have to leave my gun in my gym bag where a kid could pull it out and start blasting.

Welcome to Illinois. Here we call it NOC. As in NO carry NO way NO how NO where NO don't even ask.

P.S. Technically you can carry if it is unloaded and cased, and don't mind being arrested anyway.

True dat... it's called "Fanny pack carry". Completely within your rights, although you will be arrested and charged with it. Shawn Kranish (sp?) got acquitted for carrying this way.

US DOJ has no interest in how you store a handgun, unless it's tied to a seperate federal crime.

Maybe you should consider a safer gym? No gun to defend yourself and running away on a treadmill is futile.
