Mind if I ask you your handload for the carbine?
Wow! Better than any group I've ever shot with garands or carbines. I mostly shoot steel while running around though.M1 Carbine, 1.1M Winchester with post war mods, It's a DCM gun from around 1960.
Class 3, off bags
I score it 95-1x
Reloads: 14.5gr H110, 110gr gun show FMJs, Win SR primers.
The gun shoots good groups but wants to walk shots to the left. I started aiming center and had to keep moving the sights right until the last shot was aimed at the edge of the black at 3 o'clock; that's the one I scored as an X.

took your advice and tested Golden Tiger in the Russian SKS, it does seem to do better but there are always shots that go wide once the gun warms up, 10 shot test was a low shooting group, so if I use the ammo from now on I'll have to sight it in again.if you can find any Golden Tiger, give it a try.
a number of folks (including me) have found it to be superior.

I just don't get the groups in my two SKS that some of you do and I have tried several brands.View attachment 869496
My experience is many guns are like that from AR-15, to lever actions and so on. Last month took friends shooting, they bought Federal .223 to shoot in my AR, they kept missing the gong, gave them Winchester 5.56 ammo that it is sighted in to and they never missed the gong after.my SKS is a Romanian, and every single brand of ammo requires a sight change - sometimes just going fro HP to FMJ is a big difference - it drives me nuts being so picky!
2-xNorinco SKS, have tried several brands, today did 10 shots of Tula score 85, Red Army and Golden Tiger score 86, Red Army did the best

whoops my mistake, used the calculator again you are correct 89, must have hit too many on the calculator first time lol. Was a long day shooting, 5 hours worth kinda tired t the time2-x
2-10
3-9
1-8
2-7
This looks like an 89 unless I'm missing something?
Also, I score 73 on the 2nd target
Alright friends went through the entries, some fine entries and scores thanks to all who entered. Surprised no one entered with a scoped or optic was hoping to see what a AK, SKS and MINI 14 would show with optics. BUT anyone can add later after the fact if you wish.
congrats to
class 1 standing, Garrett with a Norinco AK in .223 score 84-1X
class 3 rested with iron sights, MuntinousDoug with a Winchester M1 carbine score 95-1X
And to you too. Nice shooting!
And thanks again to Lionking for running these challenges. They are quite instructive.
