I picked up a big box of cast lead pistol bullets that do not have a lube groove, they have multiple grooves like for liquid lube, and they appear to be no-sizing-needed molds.

They all have been lubed with some sort of fine powdery silvery substance.

What is this stuff? It gets all over my hands and looks like spray paint.

What you describe sounds like Hornady cast bullets. They knurl the bullets and then tumble lube them. After tumble lubing them, they're dusted with white powder that I suspect contains mica.

If they are Hornady, you can shoot them just like they are, and you'll probably find them very accurate, but don't push them real hard, as they're swaged and pretty soft.

Hope this helps.
