Congratulations on the good news!!
When I gave birth to our daughter, my husband bought himself a Ruger Vaquero .357 mag.(Just glad he didn't stop on the way TO the hospital! ) He also wanted to buy a Ruger 10/22 anniversery edition for our daughter, but he has had no luck in finding one. Still trying to keep an eye out at the local gun shows for one though. Oh wait, he didn't buy ME a gun and I was the one doing all the work.... Gotta go have a word with him. Once again, congrats!

I just found out last week that I'm going to be a daddy soon, too! My wife is likely due around the same time as yours. My father-in-law told me I need to get a Browning shotgun for the baby, but I'm not sure what he based that advice on.

Not To Piss on anyones parade but don't count your chickens before there hatched Congrats and good Luck with the pregancy. My wife had a miscarrige this week at three months. Where trying to understand what happened but it sure hurts.. I was hoping to have a baby to bring to the NRA 2006 in Milwaukee to contend for Youngest member.. But it wasnt in gods Plans..

Congratulations back at you, Yowza. Will this be your first? This will be my second. Already have a 3 year old son. He'll be 4 when this baby get here.

All the .22 rifle suggestions are terrific, but I already have a couple of .22 rifles who's purpose is being handed down to children. All of the rifles have been in the family for years and still function. They belonged to my wife's grandfather. I also have a .22 pistol and .22 revolver that will be handed down as well. Whenever I list my small collection anywhere (execpt for insurance) these guns aren't mentioned because I don't consider them mine. They belong to the kids, both present and future. Of course I do take them out to funtion check often enough.

I think it would be classy to buy the baby a baby Glock (or another gun that's called "baby"). Also classy if the gun is made the same year the baby was born.

New baby, sounds expensive

Of corse if the wife is letting you get a new gun you should buy an M16 or HKsear, someday you will be able to get the baby a good start in collage with it, But you have to sell it
