Offset feed ramp

MY Kahr PM-40 has an offset (ramp is to right of centerline) feed ramp. Kahr customer service stated this is a design feature.

Can you offer a suggestion why they would design it with an offset feed ramp? It uses a single stack magazine, and the .40 S&W is a straight side cartridge.

Only reason I can come up with is to conteract the torque from the fired round.

Nothing to do with torque.
It allowed them to make the gun thinner is all.

It makes more room on the side of the frame for the trigger linkage.
