well I have been on vacation now for several days and my freind asked me to go shooting with him at the ISRA range in Kankakee , now I haven't been shooting in almost a year due to my work schedule , well I brought a case of shells and 2 boxes of clays, several rifles including a mauser I bought but hadn't fired and my glenfield mdl 60 and my 10/22 .well I am sore ,but shot about 75 % thrown ( we did this at a freind of ours farm first ) then we went to the range I was rather impressed with the facility , big and clean . well we set up in one of the 100 yard ranges they where shooting competetion in the other .I shot about 100 shots with the mauser and finally found its hitting point ( low and right ) then shot about 300 rounds of .22's my buddy had given up due to being sore but I continued . now as I barely can type and have taken several asprin for the pain I am feeling good . but am a little disapointed as my handgunning is a little sloppy, but i fell right into the ten ring with the rifle . his bringing me to this facility I am going to apply to be a member .

Doh. I _really_ need to learn how to read. Yup, the really nice ranges always have more than just one range.

yes its a good pain , took some more tylenol this morning and surveyed the damage Hmm no bruise , good !! cleaned the toys ( mauser was cleaned at the range due to old corrosive ammo ) . surveyed my shooting scores . not bad for a 66 year old weapon with iron sights ,the gun not me ! ( i had a spotter guiding me in ) yea I'm glad I'm Back also . after the reason why I disapeared ( money problems and health problems from depression ) I actually am kind of glad for modern medicine, I have now had a steady Job for the last 2 1/2 years !the longest in my life and can be rational when it comes to my temper , My buddy wants me to out practicing more with the handguns since I used to be real good and now I am lucky if I can place it in the 1 ring @ 25 yards ( muscle memory was lost ) so I guess I have to retrain .I am glad to be back with My "family " again . and Yes I still have the Coonan , and some more toys as well , Just bought a mark 4 jungle enfield Carbine . anyone up here want to meet and go shooting sometime let me know I'm in the I-55/I-80 area .
