Hey guys.

I decided to keep the Kahr. I really just love that pistol too much to let it go. I went back home and and held it and pointed it. Its like it was made for me.
I'll have to get the M&P compact in addition to the Kahr.

Now I just have to figure out how to make it up to the Kahr that I actually considered getting rid of her. Flowers? Dinner and a movie? they all seem so trite.

Perhaps new grips, and some night sights. Yeah, that'll do the trick.

The best of both world is always better if it can be afforded.

Just take the Kahr to the range and show her your love her, she'll forgive you. ;)

I would keep the Kahr if your usage is primarily concealed, and particularly IWB. The thinness of the Kahr (and Walther PPS, for that matter) is a huge asset. That and the metal pistol just feels good and balances well. If My XD wasn't so darn reliable and I so married to it, I would dump it for smaller pistol (i.e. Kahr of Walther PPS or subcompact Glock).

Slightly off topic: The Kahr K-series in the covert (so they have a MK- or PM-sized shorter grip) are some of the best balanced and best feeling pistols I have ever held. This is a pic stolen off an old Armlist ad:

Just gorgeous IMHO.

guns are not cars, trucks or motorcycles. Its not a status symbol displayed for all to see, in fact the subject is concealed carry. Do we need to explain what concealed means?
Advancing this thought...

Do not carry a pistol to defend your life because you "love" it. When you do that, you tend to lose objectivity. It must be tested rigorously and found to be absolutely reliable. If it fails, get rid of it...at least for CCW.

Also, I have talked to a fellow who carries a gun...that "jams once in a while, but it fits the comfortable holster I bought for it". No joke...

In all seriousness, that gave me a well-needed laugh. (this was in response to "do whatever strangers on the internet tell you to do." It in no way reflects on your choice or even your question, though I personally would probably have made the trade. Happy shooting and stay safe!)

If both guns fit well equally, shoot well equally and are both equally reliable, what determines which one to purchase or keep? Aesthetics are not as important as other qualities but may be a deciding factor in the purchase of any item, regardless of its function. If all things are equay, why not decide on looks?

Because too many people place looks above those other qualities. Its not about fashion.
