Ohio's CCW law has been in effect for all of 8 days now, the attorney general's office is busy getting the application processing infrstructure up and running. They haven't announced reciprocity with any other state's permit yet. Give it a few months until things settle down, if Kentucky's ccw application requirements are mostly similar to Ohio's they will probably honor your permit.

According the Kentucky's CCW page:

"Effective, July 15, 1998, Kentucky recognizes valid carry concealed weapons licenses issued by other states and, subject to the provisions of Kentucky law, a person holding a valid license from another state may carry a concealed deadly weapon in Kentucky."

Give Ohio some time to get it's own house in order and you'll probably see reciprocity agreements coming out in the future.

The biggest problem that I see it that OH requires 12 hours of classroom work while KY only requires 8. The statist MF@#$#*$(@#* in OH will probably claim that this isn't enough to grant reciprocity.

Hopefully like Alabama a couple of years ago, they will see the light eventually (I doubt it however :banghead: )

They may get it together then again they may not. Iam suprised that they didn t make only one carry weapon for all like a 22 flintlock But must remove flint when in car. There a lot of good people in Ohio but most of the time there not in power. Iam glad they got ccw . The good people have worked long and hard to get what they got. Now lets hope they can tune it a little over next couple of years.

Just about every state that has enacted right to carry legislation has had to go back later and fine tune the law. Reciprocity is almost always separate legislation unless it was written in the original bill.
