This was posted on an Ohio CCW list.

Ohio recently passed a CCW law. The law allows businesses to post and protects from lawsuit those who don't post if a shooting occurs on their property. The law also requires that businesses which *serve* alcohol for *on-site* consumption (these would be bars and restaurants like Red Lobster, not carry-out shops like the local Quickie Mart.)

This post was written by someone who owns a gunshop and was looking to have a business sign created for his shop...

Part 1 The gunshop owner turns the tables on the sign shop owner:
I went to Midwest Signs on Cleveland Ave. N. in Canton today to order the sign for our range - $1,000.00. The owner was out to our facility, examined the old sign, spent an hour with me and then later sent me the estimate, all without ever saying anything about his anti-gun stance. When I arrived at his shop I was greeted with a "No Guns" sign on his door. Now I'm thinking, hey, it is a sign store, maybe he is just displaying a product, so I ask him about it when I walked in. He advises me that it's there to keep anybody but Police Officers from entering his shop with a gun and that he has plenty more on the floor behind me for sale. He's so proud of his little signs that he even has a notice on his billboard out front "Gun Signs In Stock". I tried to talk to him about his reasoning for the sign but it was obvious that between him and the woman behind the counter adding her 2 cents worth, that I was fighting a losing battle. I then told him that I would take my sign business elsewhere. He apparently didn't believe me because he kept saying "Oh come on, lets do this deal" & "You're not serious" right up till the time I walked out the door. Unfortunately, this guy has the contract for all the decal work for the Stark County Sheriff's Office cruisers. This is ironic because the Stark Co. Sheriff's Office is pro CCW.
Part 2 Hmmm. Felony impersonation of a government employee?:
I approached a Marathon station near my home when a sign appeared on their door. I was told that a man from the Liquor Agency came in and told them that they had to put up the sign because they sold Alcohol. They said that he even provided the sign! I told them that provision of the law did not apply to them because they only sell carry-out. I asked them if they saw any type of ID to which they replied that they did not. Now I know for a fact that even if this Liquor guy was for real and was mis-informed about the applicable law, the state of Ohio isn't buying and distributing signs for use by private businesses. This only leaves one explanation in this case; some anti's are going around pretending to be people they aren't and then providing signs for the duped businesses.

Even if the person/persons who are doing this do get arrested, it's probably going to get soft-padded in the media. Sigh.

Must have been soooo satisfying to walk out that door.

Almost as satisfying as it will be when the sign peddlers are found out.

Or worse, they will be lauded as heroes for "doing the right thing." "For the children".

Double sigh, and :barf:
