Finally narrowed down my endless search for the perfect 9mm sub-comapct that works for me, in sizes, quality and price.

1st choice: Beretta PX-4 sub-compact

2nd choice: Springfield XD-9sc

3rd choice: Glock 26...

Maybe the xd and glock will switch places, but I'm keen on the Beretta for quality, safety features and feel. I'll probably get a Pierce extention for eihter.... Does anyone own at least two of the three listed?? Can you do a comparison of the pros and cons that might tip the scale to one side or another. Thanks for your time.

Is there really that much of a quality difference between the three? I haven't handled the PX4, but in holding my Glock and XD, I really don't see a difference quality wise. What makes the Beretta better?

Good choices if you like polymer. Beretta is a good choice, but i'd go for the 92 FS model. Steel, personal opinion, no plastic in my barn. Just my .02 cents worth. Good luck!

i personaly like the XD but the glock and beretta seam nice too
i dont think quality is a major defining matter between the 3 i guess it would come down to ammo capacity (i dont know if it differs offhand) and magazine availability (not that any of the three are rare)
also remember glock gets alot of attention from the aftermarket so if you plan on changing anything thats also a factor

I only have experience with the G26 and it's an incredible shooter for its size.

I can't speak to the beretta, but with regards to the other two: when you are looking at sub-compacts its all about the numbers. Whats thinner? lighter? shorter? and they all lean to the glock. Not by much, but if you're wanting the best SC you can get, I THINK that is it. Mag capacity is a wash, and barrel length is longer on the glock.

In fact, I just bought a G26, and all those reasons above are why.

Another biased vote for the Glock here. I have no experience with the others.

Small, surprisingly accurate for such a small pistol.

My favorite perk is carry with the 10 rounder, and slip a 17 rounder in your pocket for a reload.

I think the other two you mentioned might have this capability as well.

What fits your hand better?

What do you shoot better?

I'm a fan of the XD, the ergonomics are much better than the Glocks, and I find the trigger works better for me.

The XD compact is even more of a brick than the G26. If I was leaning the XD way, I'd move up to a G19. But since I'm not leaning that way, I went with the G26. I have reservations about it sometimes, but not so much that I want to switch.

I would go with either

the Beretta PX4sc or the XD9sc. They are both reliable, extremely accurate, and easy to maintain. The click down pinkie extension is a neat feature on the Beretta if your hands are large like mine. That said, both are somewhat thick for concealed carry, but admittedly I prefer to carry in my front pocket, which reguires either my j-frame or Kahr PM9.

Glock makes a good product, they are just not my favorite, and don't feel right in my hand, but again that is personal preference.

I can think of some negatives for the Beretta compared to the other two.

1) Cost,The Beretta costs more.
2) Holster availibility as the gun is relatively new
3) Mag availibilty and cost

I owned a XD9sc and my wife has a G26.

I prefer the glock for the longer barrel, cheaper mags(not so much now)lack of external saftey/decocker etc.
If I am going to have a chucky little "subcompact" I might as well have one with a longer barrel.
The XD9sc was a great shooter and was very reliable.I didn't care for the grip safety and cocking indicator.

Good luck on your quest.
