About 16 years ago I bought 8# of Accurate 2200 Data Powder in response to a closeout flyer that touted how good it was for reloading .223 Remington and 7.62x39. So for $48 ($6/pound) I gave it a try and they were right; I was very pleased. I’ve lost the data sheet that was supplied with the powder, but I remember it pushed a .223 55grain fmj bullet at approximately 3200 fps out of a 20” barrel with good accuracy. I bought a lot more and I still have a bunch left, but I need the data sheet to reload 7.62x39.

Accurate has reintroduced a powder they are calling just Accurate 2200. I looked at Accurate’s data online and it looks the same, but I’m not really positive. Does anyone know for sure if the new data will apply to my old stuff? Thanks….. Doc

Still have an old 8 Lb jug unopened. I'll get to it this summer. Looked at the old data sheet I got with the powder which only shows Maximum loads and it is the same data I am seeing here. However, taken from my old data sheet, 7.62 x 39:
Bullets:
SRA 110 HP 29.5 Grains
HDY 123 SP 29.5 Grains
SRA 150 Grains 26.3 Grains

Again those are absolute maximum loads and the same as the linked data sheet.

Ron - Thanks for your response and for the DP-2200 link. I saved the link to my computer for future reference.

Your link suggested that there might be functioning failures (i.e., short stroking) because of the lower pressure developed during the AR-15's dwell time in some rifles. I never had a failure to function with DP-2200 because I always loaded it to the max in my 20” barreled Bushmaster AR-15s.

This morning I tested my max DP-2200 load in my AR-15 pistol with a 10.5” barrel and it short stroked. When I get a chance I‘ll try loading a different powder and see how it goes. There is a possibility that there may be a buffer/buffer spring problem as well….. Doc

Old 2200 = A Fine Wine

I also purchased 2200 back in the day from that flyer. Still loading off that batch. Yes I bought a big lot!

.223 - 7.62x39, and .308 all great. Read recently that it could short stroke but I never had it happen.

I use the new data sheet but I still have the sheet that came with the powder.
