The thread about balloon head cases prompted me to look back at some of my old boxes. I actually bought these full of cartridges in my youth:
The .41 Long Colt I bought while I was at Ft. Carson, Dolorado. An old sergeant had a Colt Bisley in .41, I never owned one myself, though bought ammo, and shot it a lot during my brief stay at Ft. Carson.
Note the price on the .45 Colt cartridges, $5.55 per box. This for my first revolver of my own, a Colt New Service.
The .38 S&W went into several of the old top-breaks of the time.
