You might want to run that gun past Roy Jinks, S&W's company historian. For a reasonable $30.00 fee (check made out to S&W), a copy of the picture you posted, and a discription including the full serial number (look on the bottom of the butt, and underside of barrel where it is normally covered by the ejector rod).
I say all of this because your revolver has a lanyard ring - and that would probably have been on special order. The probable increase in value of the gun/letter combination together would likely be more then the cost of the letter.
