Well after a near 15 year "try out period" ;) my dad finally decided to return my old non decocker style Taurus PT 92 AF.

After such a long spell with lots of shooting and good care (but no parts swaps), figured might be a good idea to at least get some new springs, and maybe try a lighter hammer spring for better pull like I've done my Beretta's.

Are any or all of the Hammer spring, Recoil Spring, Firing Pin Spring, on the Taurus same as Beretta 92 FS parts? If not is there a difference between any/all of above between the newer and older non-decocker Taurus models???

Thanks for any help!

Thank you Sir!

I'd looked at Brownels site for Wolff Springs for the Taurus but could not locate any there.

Why? it just got old enough to vote:confused:

;)

Seriously, may be wrong but I think it was Tamara(?) that said Taurus locking blocks were used to replace Beretta models that came into the shop because they never seen a Taurus one break.

Might be a good idea, but I got a lot of plinkers to deal with if this one ever goes down.

Thanks

After 15,000 or so rounds through my decocker 99AF, I replaced the locking block along with the spring kit from Langon Tactical.

' bout the locking block...

Just because they are not known to break on Taurus's, ' doesn't mean it can't break. They are just the same basic design as the Beretta's, as far as I know. So, while you're at it, why not just get a spare? Otherwise, Mr. Murphy might just get in the way.

The Langon hammer spring rocks, what a difference.

I have a 13 year old Taurus and it did brake the locking block, about 25K on it when I let my X shoot it on the 2nd mag it broke, they were both due to be replaced:D. All the spring kits I have got for my Taurus were the Beretta kits.

In its defense it had many many +p and +p+ rounds thru it. Now they barely make minor PF. LOL
