Olympic Arms AR15 Plinker .223

Has anyone had any experience with this gun?

What are the pro's and con's?

I think the early Plinkers had a softer cast reciever. The newer ones are forged. Early Oly's were known for tight magwells, but this too was fixed.

Otherwise, Oly makes some very accurate AR's on par with the other major manufacturers.

My brother-in-law has one that he got at a pawn shop for $400. It has a piece of the receiver cracked where the pin goes through the trigger guard. Probably stressed at some point but does not affect it's functionality. It looks like a soft cast receiver as lycanthrope already mentioned. It shoots like it's name - a plinker.

Own two. Oly does not use cast receivers anymore and they had a replacement program for those that did. They work fine.
