They want be saigas, they'll be American made AK's sold by the company that at one time imported saigas. Hopefully the quality will be good as well as the price but only time will tell.

I looked at that thread but I didn't get much out of it except aguements. So they will not be the same as the old saiga receivers? And won't be affordable like before?

Yeah I guess after thinking about it I realize that nobody really knows yet. And they won't be the same as the rpk recievers. Would be cool if they were the same price and quality of the saigas. Anyways new quality ak on the market can't be a bad thing especially with new saiga shotguns availible as well :)

I can only hope that they put a little better finish on them stateside than the Krylon equivalent that the Russians were coating them with.

From what hear it will be a US made gun. For some reason I think people are really shying away from this topic because the whole thing is a BIG ???

100% made in the USA? Or will there be imported parts?

Many unknowns. Or all unknowns, at this point :D, No real idea whether they are subbing out the work or building themselves, no idea on parts sourcing, or MSRP.

With Century, Palmetto, IO and maybe others in the market already, RWC is not entering a virgin market.

Poeple are "shying away" from this topic because with so little information available, there's only so much to discuss. Considering last I knew)and maybe that changed in the last two weeks), they didn't even have a location in mind for the factory, discussing what parts will be used seems a little premature. Lets make sure this gets off the ground and running before we get TOO excited about this

^ I agree with that I guess I am still just mourning Saigas loss in general. I just hope there 12g kicks serious ass. It better not be sub par in quality and above or equal the quality of the "real" ones I guess time tells all in this case. Im afraid that because its USA it will be serious $$$$$$$. AK USA prove us wrong! Please!!! Last I heard the location might be Bucks county PA. If its anything like the Yeungling factory pumps out it in Pottsville PA it very well may be good. I for one think we should support it and not ignore this issue! AK USA PLEASE! don't suck...

Color me confused.....what on earth does the quality of beer a brewery makes have ANYTHING to do with the POSSIBLE quality of rifles being made in the same general area?!?!? I can hardly think of two items any more different than beer and guns!

It's because it's America's oldest brewery.... making affordable beer at premium level quality!!!

But to repeat:

^^^ THIS IS IMPORTANT ^^^

There will be at least 4 makers of an all USA made AK... what I like to call the USAK.

Let the competition for cheapest prices begin!!!!

I hope they will bring something similar the VEPR to the market. I had a Saiga 308. It was dependable but accuracy wise my 40 year old Browning shoots much better. My brother has a 223 saiga, it is pretty accurate. He drills an antelope right in the head every time he gets an opportunity to hunt.

Yes I have Saiga 7.62 but I had always wished I had bought on of there shotguns. I really hope they bring a good product to market.

They don't have a factory yet, so they don't have a clue what overhead will be, no way to accurately judge price for any kind of profit margin.
The red Saiga looked great for a zombie movie gun,

There was another, colored to be the hero's gun. I like the dual side charging handle. That is one semi-auto shotgun I wouldn't mind owning, but in FDE/desert camo, perhaps. ;)

The wall of Siagas you couldn't see in the attached story.

I really don't know what they have planned, because none of the salespersons or associates had time to talk to me while I was there at their booth - I wasn't important looking enough. :D

What I'd really, really like to see (my Santa wishlist for 2015/16) ... is if one or more of these USAK manufacturers went for a SVD/Tiger or FPK/PSL inspired product.

That would be truly awesome.

I guess seeing domestically produced AKs is nice, but it would be ten times better to see cheap domestic 7.62x39. Let's be honest - a big part of the appeal of AKs is dirt cheap Wolf ammo. If that supply of ammo from Eastern Europe is ever cut off in the future, I think AKs would start disappearing very quickly.

^^^^^^^^^

Agreed, but I think you can replace that "if" with a "when"
Russia will keep acting stupid so we will quit accepting imports from them.. At least Ukraine sends us a lot of cheap 7.62 as well, but it seems like they have trouble to.... Haven't they been invaded by someone. :scrutiny:

I'm telling you, that whole part of the world is in trouble, stock up now.
And if wrong, so what? You'll have a lot of ammo that was bought at a decent price.:D

Fixed that...and as for dirt cheap ammo...

$.15 each, with some work on my end. ;) Works in bolt AND gas operated guns, and it's available when the gun shops are sold out of everything. In 2008 I was the only guy shooting 7.62x39mm at the range..:p

Sorry, couldn't resist. I still have some Wolf left over from a case a buddy sold me for $90...does that tell you how long ago that was? That's my bad times ammo stash.
