There's a little out of the way place not too far from me that has Federal LR, SR, etc. for $30/k. I've already got maybe 15k on hand so I left them for someone else.

Jeez, maybe instead of frequenting the big box stores, we should support the LGS, What a novel idea!!!

Hell, they were over $10/1000 before the AWB of '94 and gas was under a buck. The only way your going to get them for that price is after you go to sleep, before you wake back up.

Inflation is a $#%@. But that's all that is. The price of firearms and ammunition has gone down over the years, adjusted for, due to improved manufacturing methods and automation. Well, except for preban NFA firearms and obsolete collector ammunition.

There is a real spike in demand as new shooters are being attracted to the sport due to the current media/politics. But if that demand persists, so will the number of people willing to manufacture said firearms and ammunition. Real price increases like this cannot be sustained, indefinitely. Concerning ammo, I'll say it again. This isn't a sustainable supply versus consumption issue. It's just a supply versus temporary demand issue.

I agree but in my area there are no small stores left who carry reloading supplies but for one and he's usually closed due to health problems. Gander Mountain is the only local store left with reloading supplies and they have been phasing them out for the past 6 months.

Unfortunately my only option other than buying online is a special order through my local dealer or a 150 mile round trip to Cabela's.

I found a place in Omaha that actually had a lot of primers and powder and 1lb and 4 lb jugs. 35/1000 on primers and powder was cheaper than Midway. I grabbed what I needed and left. Should have gotten some rifle primers but rifle magnums have been easy to find around here.

$38/1000 Federal Large Pistol primers yesterday and I was glad to get them. No small pistol to be seen.

gspn - admit it, you posted to rub it our faces. :D

I wish I had a LGS that carried reloading supplies.
The nearest one is a Gander Mt - 40 miles away and their prices are NUTS (& have been for a long time)

Other than them, there's a Scheels about 60 miles away (on a 2 lane back country road)
