Walmart has had a no open carry policy for years, just FYI. That's nothing new.
No. This is the first time it has been implemented besides following various State Laws. Of course,
I can't carry there at all, because I work there, but you still can, CCW, where allowed by law.
I have worked for Walmart for 14 years, the Sporting Goods Dept. Mgr. in my store is my best friend and shooting buddy, and he knows of no such plan. There are changes coming, but they are organizational. Walmart as a company will still be selling ammo, but as I have stated in many threads about it, a store manager can effectively decide whether that store will or will not carry ammo or guns because they have to approve ammo and gun purchases, whatever the store modular may be.
Bear in mind Walmart's current stock is billions of rounds, just in .223 alone.
As for the OC thing, FWIW; most the people I have seen OC had Hi-Points (Not a good carry gun due to the poor safety) in the $7 Crosman Airsoft holsters we sell, usually without the strap closed, and hanging way out to the point the gun could fall out.
I disagree with the new policies, but it is a business. We all had to retake the Active Shooter video training after the two recent incidents, even though we take it quarterly anyway.
