Went and bought some primers and some powder today. Bullseye has become one that I really like and I bought some more of it today. But also, on a whim, I bought a pound of TiteGroup. I've never shot any of it, but from the data on the label, it looks like it is a good choice for me, in that I mainly shoot 38 spec, 357, and 45 ACP.

I just now discovered that it is right below Bullseye on the Hodgdon Relative Burn Rate chart. http://www.hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html

If you are one who regularly loads TiteGroup, your comments as to its usage and performance are welcomed. (It may be a while before I try it, as I have some open containers that I need to shoot up first, but it appears that some good loads may be awaiting me out there...) :D

I stopped using all other pistol powders in non-Magnum cartridges and use only Titegroup now for range ammo.

I load 9mm Luger & +P, .38 spcl, .357 Mag, .44 Spl, .44 Magnum, .45 ACP, .40 S&W- all with Titegroup.

For really Magnum loads I use #9 when necessary.

Titegroup meters very well, flows well, ignites consistently (even with high volume cases & small charges with nonmagnum primers) and it is cheap to use- a little goes a long way, as the bottle says. $12.50 per pound when bought in 8# jugs in a group buy.

It is finicky in terms of not liking low charges, it gets sooty brass if it's too low of a charge. Also I get a scorch mark on my .45's but I've seen the same thing with other powders.

I'd call it the powder that is the jack of all trades. In Magnum loadings you need a bulkier, slower powder for best results however.

Thanks, Evan. Sounds like TiteGroup is a good choice then, and I look forward to burning some of it in the not-so-distant future.

Your comment of seeing scorch marks on your .45 brass rings true. I see those myself, when using one of several powders. I wan't sure what was causing it but it's good to see that I'm not alone... :D

I've used Titegroup in 9mm, .38Sp, and .45ACP with decent results in each.

I really like it in 9mm with 115gr (4.2-4.5gr) and 124gr (4.2gr) jacketed bullets. I'm somewhat limited in .38Sp since my Lee Auto Disk doesn't throw a ton of different charges and it's very easy to go over max with it.

It's pretty clean in 9mm, less so in .45ACP.

Titegroup

I've used Titegroup in .380,9mm,.38 Spl.,.357 Mag.,.40S&W,.44 SPL.,.44 Mag.,.45ACP,and .45 Colt and have made it my main powder for handgun as it has done well in all of the above list. I have noted the soot and scorch that Evan has mentioned but mostly on my mild target wadcutter loads in .357 and .44 mag.
