Has anyone tried "Sneaky Pete" holsters? My last thread concerned carrying in church. I can't help Sneaky Pete offers one with a cross on it. Hey my wife likes it!

I think it would give you more access when sitting. I pocket carry but sitting hinders that in certain "small-pocketed" trousers.

Thing is, I don't recall seeing anyone ever carrying anything that looks like the "Sneaky Pete" no matter what they carry in it... Even the old, old dudes with cell phones in a big belt case don't look like that.

Guess it would be a concealed firearm, though.

I have to agree, I don't recall ever laying eyes on one. But the company appears to be "going strong". So I would guess there are a few around.

Maybe they are that good and I didn't even realize it?

Well, a Sneaky Pete covered under a suit jacket certainly would keep the gun concealed if a breeze opened up your jacket.

On the other hand, an uncovered Sneaky Pete with a cross on it might look like it contains a small copy of the New Testament?

I have read some old threads about Sneaky Pete holsters. The bottom line seems to be that they are too big and cumbersome (bulky) to be "sneaky."

I guess it depends on who's looking. My wife and I were in the grocery and she was open carrying an LCP in a bright pink kydex holster, the checkout girl said "I like your phone case."

I have seen people carrying a cell phone in a similar looking case on their belt. But the Sneaky Pete is definitely bulkier. I guess unless someone was scrutinizing closely they wouldn't notice the difference.

I currently use one a LOT. And I have several. They work best with smaller pistols. My Brother has one for his p320 and it’s HUGE

I've carried a small 22 in my cellphone holder. It worked out fairly well, but I really need it for my phone.

The gun itself would be more concealable. Otherwise it just looks like you have a cereal box strapped on to your waist. I guess to comply with the law which does not allow open carry it technically conceals the gun. However, it is not fooling anyone about its contents.
Is your concern with actually concealing the firearm or just covering up the silhouette of a firearm?

To each his own, but I personally don't care much about Open Carry. It's like waving a flag and saying "Hey, just shoot me first". A Sneaky Pete holster would be sort of like "waving the flag". What good are you to anyone if a "shooter" walks up behind you and puts a bullet in the back of your head and takes you out first? Why wear a Bullseye on you back?

I've seen 2 guys carry with Sneaky Pete Holsters recently.
A friend that did some work on my Lake House used a Blue Sneaky Pete holster that had a 1st Aid cross / symbol on it.

Just last week I saw an old timer with a bright red Sneaky Pete holster, also with a 1st Aid symbol on it. He was in poor health and if I didn't know what it was, it might've worked for him. I was gonna ask him what pistol does he pack but didn't get an opportunity.

I'm pretty sure that Sneaky Pete advertises/d in the NRA magazine. So you're not fooling anyone that knows guns. You might fool some people who have little or no knowledge of guns though. I would put it on the same level as a fanny pack and a "shoot me 1st" fisherman / photographer / 5.11 vest.

The majority of "the public" would probably think it's an insulin or first aid kit if so labeled. But there is a handful who would be quite aware of what those big cases on your hip really are.

My father in law carries a s&w Bodyguard in a Sneaky Pete. He is a Navy vet and doesn't care if anyone recognizes that he is carrying. It looks like a leather box on his belt, but he likes it.....so, whatever.
I much prefer an iwb holster.
