I just started shooting in an action pistol league. I've only been shooting my pistol, SA xd .45 ACP, for less than a year.

I usually shoot with both eyes open (my scores have sucked). While practice drawing from a holster tonight I tried closing my weak eye while dry firing. Seems like I can focus in on the front site faster with one eye.

Just curious if most shooters aim with one or two eyes open? Any advantage or disadvantages?

Two eyes. Better peripheral vision. More depth perception as you loose that by losing the binocular effect of both eyes when closing one. Less eye strain over a period of time.

I've competed all over the US in IPSC matches and about 15 nationals with some success. I want the ability to see my next target array etc as I am finishing up the string. Also shooting moving targets it is a major help.

You really shouldn't be focusing on the target, you should focus on the front sight. See if that improves your scores.
