You can only buy one gun, and it has to be your only gun for the rest of your life. Rifle, pistol, revolver, shotgun, whatever. Only one.

Mine is either a Heckler & Koch HK53 or a Sig SG552.

AR. By changing uppers, you can have many versions of it. Is that cheating?

Mine is a Winchester 52 sporter. Yep it's just a 22lr but think about it are you going to be fighting off hordes of mongols or trying to feed yourself? And what better gun than the poachers choice ? It's quite, deadly accurate, and can kill anything up to & including Moose with the right shot placement.:D

HEY, I didn't say I could hit anything!:banghead:  :D :D:neener:

Although I very much respect the .22lr & shotgun ideas, after much thought, I'm going to the other end of the spectrum.

I'm buying a Missouri class battleship with 1 intact 16" naval rifle. Range is generally considered to be up to around 22 miles. If I stock the ship & lock the doors, I can wait out the liberals. Besides, it's a single shot, not a weapon of mass destruction, and there are, at present, no caliber restrictions.

If the sheeple insist on electing anti's eventually I can just sail away. All-in-all I figure my biggest problem might be conservative stowaways that wish they'd thought of it first.

A 4" stainless .357 Magnum revolver.

You guys picking rifles and shotguns are going to have to make a MAJOR wardrobe change if you ever need to carry them concealed...

If things got so bad that one could only be able to have one gun I think that would finally override everything else and I'd move:D

Otherwise, I'd take advantage of the loophole. Many people don't want guns. I wonder how much I'd have to pay my anti-gun parents, brother, cousins and aunts and uncles to officially own some of my guns? Maybe some of my neutral non-gun owning friends and family would be better.

OK, in keeping with the spirit of your question...

I am not a hunter, I don't live in a CCW state (but I may move, or somehow MD may come around), for me guns are for fun and for home protction (plus carry when I move).

If I still think I'll end up in a CCW state I'd keep a 3" or 4" K-frame .357. Cheap .38spl practice ammo (when I don't feel like reloading), I have all I need to reload both .38 and .357, mild recoil and noise for training new shooters with .38s, good .38+P and .357mag defensive ammo, flamethrower .357 powerhouses when that is what you want...Can't beat the versatility of a .357mag. A 3" K-frame is perfectly balanced, conceals easily, is big enough to be quite comfortable, has a long enough sight radius for easy accuracy...A 4" doesn't give up that much, isn't quite as nice but close. This is doubly versatile for those of you who hunt.

Honorable mention, a nice 1911 but it just isn't as versatile.

If I'm not in a CCW state it is between:
-a 3" or 4" K-frame .357mag
-a Winchester 94 in a revolver caliber (.357mag would be nice, I also like my .45LC quite a bit)
-an AR- cheap ammo, usable for HD, switch out the uppers for extra versatility
-a 12ga pump

My S&W 657 Mountain Gun in .41Magnum of course. I can CCW it with no problem, use it for home protection, and hunt anything up to bison size. It'll shoot from 130grWC to 300gr.LFNGC bullets. I'd limit it to my hand cast 250gr.WFNGC for big game and a good 210gr.JHP for everything up to and including deer. No problemo. :p

A pistol would get the nod. A long gun is only useful at home.

I'd go with a Glock 31. 15+1 of .357 Sig with good terminal ballistics up to 100 yards sounds pretty nice to me.

FAL with 30rd mags. Ak47 with drum mags would be nice also, but I want the damage of .308 if this is going to be one one and only.

As much as I don't like the idea of one gun, if I was forced to own only one it would have to be concealable. This means a handgun. That being the case, it would have to be the perfect balance of power and capacity. Simple, really. Glock 20.

If one and only one then I would choose a side x side 12 guage shotgun. If it walks, crawls, or flies it would be in trouble. After the 2 shots then batting practice commences. :D
