one last evil rifle before November comes along....

considering Vector V93 in .223 (dealer an sell me new one for about $1070) or a DSA FAL in .308 (as seen here:http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/expand.asp?Prodid=389)

I already have a PTR-91 in .308, and a AK in 7.62x39 nd my father has a Saiga .223 that I can shoot anytime I want.

Both rifles appeal to me. The deal breaker would be the cost of ammo, .223 expense vs .308 expense. I don't shoot the Russian steel cased stuff, only brass cased ammo(Magtech, Winchester and Fiocchi) I only get to shoot my rifles once a month, usually I take a 3 day weekend and have a weekend of gun fun.

I'm leaning towards the Vector just because it's a different style rifle given the FAL looks cosmetically the same more or less to my PTR. But I wanted to know, anyone think ammo for .223 will remain below or be higher than .308? I don't reload and can't reload due to housing limitations(I rent and share a townhouse and it is not feasible to put reloading equipment in the house).

any thoughts? I appreciate opinions.

Got a source for HK93 mags? If not, I'd go with the FAL where spare mags are cheap and plentiful for the time being.

Don't forget the mags. My HK93 mags are $35-40 bucks apiece for the 40 rounders and the 30 rounders are $55-65 apiece. Compare those prices with FAL mags with are $5-10 bucks apiece.

Also you can accescorize an FAL or change the configuration easier and for less than a V93.

I say get the V93 because no one can say what is going to happen to Vector Arms because of the owner's recent legal troubles.

The mag price is definitely difficult with the V93 but apart from that I would say go for it. Haven't ever seen the appeal of a FAL myself though I'm sure it's a fine rifle.
