One of them little flat pistols, maybe?

My Gen 1 Shield is my cold weather daily carry. For warm weather my Gen1 LCP is a dream to carry. Belly band, pocket, IBW it just disappears.
It puts 7 Gold Dots into a 7” paper plate at 3 yards in under 3 seconds from low ready.

I don't understand front pocket carry. Slow to draw even if you're standing, and almost impossible if you're sitting/driving.
I front pocket carry alot, almost exclusively now that I'm retired and seldom wear pants with back pockets.
Some observations
The draw is much easier if the gun fits so that it sits just so in the pocket, the grip should be up near the opening, something like a LCP in a typical pocket holster gets buried too deep.
As to front vs back, I can stand or walk with my hand in my front pocket and no one bats an eye. Looks weird walking with a hand in a back pocket.
Not sure seated would be any easier either way, but when driving as I sit I'll slip the gun and holster out and wedge it between my seat and console.

I used to carry my Ruger LCP in an ankle holster.
Then I got the Sig 938 that I carry now in an ankle holster.
9mm is a huge upgrade from a .380 acp. Huge.

I keep the LCP around for pocket carry - which I seldom do since I'm "pocket challenged"..(I wear sweats)

There is a danger in carrying the LCP. You forget you have it on. I remember Uber driving in Seattle, picked up a few shady scary passenger. Light panic, because I didn’t feel my gun. Gave my left pocket a pat, I’m good!

I carry a LCP quite often. When our daughter was being inducted into an honor society on campus, in the rush of trying to figure out where I was to park. I didn't realize until I was in the hall that the LCP still resided in my pocket. Act natural.

True this. In general I have 4 pockets in whatever pants or shorts I'm wearing. Phone right front, wallet right rear, keys and dog poop bags left rear, 1st gen. LCP left front.

I just tap each pocket to make sure something is in it when I leave the house, often can't feel the LCP until I tap it. It's light, small, nothing to snag, no extra step for a safety, and doesn't print in my pocket holster. I recommend one for the OP.

air travel is also an issue with the LCP. Small mags, small gun, small bullets.

I’m always paranoid that I left it in some pocket or bag.

I’m surprised I’m the first one to recommend a Sig P365.

It’s a smidge bigger than an LCP, but should be a lot easier to shoot than an LCP, due to having proper sights, including a tritium front. (I’ve never shot an LCP) It’s a proper 9 mm too.

I pocket carry it and also IWB; it’s great in both options.

It comes with two 10-rounders; one flush fitting, and one that I can cram my pinky onto, and doesn’t make the gun much bigger. I just added a 12-rounder for a full grip option.

One cool thing about the P365 family is that Sig registers the modular MECHANISM as the gun, not the frame. This means you can easily build it into a different model later with a simple parts swap. (Though it’s expensive to do so) No government paperwork or checks needed.

The trigger is surprisingly good; not too heavy or long and a clean break. Short reset, too.

One can tell that Sig learned from others’ lessons when they made this gun.

I got out yesterday and handled an LCP, an LCP Max, and (I think) an EC9s. Academy had lots of Rugers to handle. I also handled a Hellcat Pro, but that was not related to this search. That was just for fun. Of those, the LCP Max is in the lead. Slightly larger than the LCP, but still (probably) pocket-sized, 4 more rounds, and sights that are not machined into the slide.

I still have more investigation to do, though, and it's gun show day here.

Just Buy the LCP Max! they have ZERO incidents of it going off (sig) in holster. Great safety track / carry records. Don’t over think it! and spend more time at the range to draw from pocket and handle surprise snappy nature of such a light gun. When your panic firing the little thing, (i practice panic firing and yelling) it’s like firing a sub machine gun. Jumps and you have to bring it back on sight.

EC9s and J frames are plenty for me. If you REALLY want to add to the current list then I would agree with several of the guns already mentioned… especially the micro-1911ish guns. Also I would go for a ppk380 knowing full well that they are terrible guns to actually shoot, but they are beautiful pieces of engineering and they are functional (albeit brutal) weaponry.
