One of them little flat pistols, maybe?

So, denizens of THR, I'm looking for a flat pocket pistol in at least .380 and preferably 9mm. Here's what I have:
1. LCP
2. LC9
3. Kahr CM9

Well, you can pocket the LCR and you already have a nice selection of pocketable guns. So, you don't need anything for your intended purpose. Get a good holster for any or all of those and give them a shot. That said, you (like me and many others here who have been buying and shooting guns for a while) are in the enviable position of not really needing anything, so you can simply get something you want. So, in pocket carry, what speaks to you?

For me, I've been thinking of adding a Kahr PM9 (or a little less likely, a CM9) for pocket carry when the LCP is too weak for what I want and the P290 or P365 is too big (actually, when I get the Kahr I'll probably be selling the P290). Just for fun, I'm thinking of getting another NAA Guardian in .32ACP (I sold mine around 10 years ago or so) and/or a Beretta Tomcat. If I get the little .32 I may even pocket carry it once in a while (as a backup since I don't totally trust .32ACP). Maybe a Colt Mustang or SIG P238 or P938 may be in the cards (though I don't carry SA with safeties, I prefer DAO, DA/SA or decocker guns for self-defense, so that would just be for fun).

So, what do you want?

To me the advantage of a 380 over a 9 in a small gun is controlability . less recoil , faster follow ups, less blast, same size hole. Works for me, I like the g42 because it's just big enough to be able to shoot well.

I’m sorry, but I was apparently not clear. That list was what I have on the list, not what I own.

Oops, sorry...

I have an LCP and a Pf9 (similar size to the LC9 but a little lighter). I think the Pf9 I have, and the similar LC9 is a little large for pocket carry, but doable. The LCP is a terrific pocket gun when I need something very small, but since .380 doesn't always give me the confidence I'd like, I'm still thinking about a PM9 or CM9 when I want something smaller than my other guns but want more than .380. A buddy used to have a PM9 and it was a little snappy but not particularly uncomfortable to shoot. If you go LCP, it is hard to beat its size, weight, reliability and reasonable power, but do yourself a favor and get one with the Crimson Trace laser as the sights are all but non-existent.

After re-reading OP's follow-ups I am going to try something, post-wise:

The List so far:
1. LCP
2. LC9
3. Kahr CM9

4. Sig P365
5. SA Hellcat
6. LCP MAX
7. Kahr PM/CM9
8. ?

Not much of one, I'm afraid. I went to the gun show and handled a number of pistols, but wasn't able to rule any in or out.
you don’t just buy for the heck of it? thinks of all the brain powder, gas, show fees, & time you can save!

Generally, no, I don't. I absolutely loathe buyer's remorse, and that's one of the reasons I put so much time, energy, gas, etc., into making sure I get something I'll like.
well, To each his own. Interesting in people mind set when and why they buy guns.

I find the pleasure in the buying process. Like when women has 20 purses and just need one more.

I'm curious about your response to this, Spats:

I absolutely love my P-365, but it is on the very top end of size to pocket carry. Could you? yea, but I do believe the OP wants something smaller/thinner.

The Beretta Pico is a great little pistol, and is light and thin, very good trigger, I would carry it pocket style no issues, but it's my wife's. :)

I'd like to handle the LCP Max.

Surely you've tried a P365 by now? I'd think most ranges that offer rentals have one...

Actually, I have not. I'd be willing to bet that our local range has one to rent, but I haven't gotten around to it. Haven't liked the way the P365 felt in my hand.

I dig that.

But... the one I bought on impulse was the Shield Plus (some distant post from Spats floated though my brain as I handled it). Best buy yet!

You've never met my wife. I've got twice the clothes, twice the shoes, twice as many vehicles. That's before you look at one entire wall of my garage hosting my rods & reels.

Not that I have that much. Just that she doesn't buy anything (except educational materials).

That's the same way I felt when I first handled the P365; that it was too small; and I even have fairly small hands. Then I tried the P365 X with the slightly larger grip frame and it became the "Goldilocks Gun": not too small, not too big, feels just right!

I haven't been carrying consistently for a few weeks now, ever since I pulled a muscle in my lower back. It's been slowly improving, and most days it's not too bad for typical daily activities. But if I carry, the weight on my hip is very clearly felt across my body to the opposite hip and leg.

I haven't yet received the holster I ordered for my Walther CCP, which is a bit lighter than my Colt 1991A1. But even so, I'm not sure how it would feel carrying it, either.

I bet the P365 with the 12 round mag (same as what comes with the P356x?) would feel good. It's worth investigating. I think with this 12-rounder, my P365 became a P365X snubby. :)
